My steps disappear after syncing. Only show calories. I’ve tried all the suggestions. Fully charged Fitbit. Restarted Fitbit. Restarted iPhone. Deleted and reinstalled app. Steps are all missing from previous days, too.

My Fitbit App is still not saving steps.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A22 with OS Android version 13.
My last update from Fitbit was Version 4.30 on 11th November.
I have tried everything suggested and the app is still not working properly ☹️

I finally decided the Fitbit One is the problem and got an Inspire 3 which can be worn on a clip. Now everything is working fine, steps history shows up and everything moves over to MyFitnessPal.
The One is the problem and they just aren’t supporting it any more. But if you still want a waistband clip pedometer, get the Inspire 3.

MarcyBT - thanks for the info. While I understand that the One is an older device, something in the FitBit system does still recognize my steps as the weekly progress email does show my activity correctly. Google should be able to fix this as well as reverting the code that disabled the activity logging on the website.
So Google/FitBit, figure this out already or just tell us all that it won’t be fixed and be done with it.

@sclan You make the critical point - the device (in this case the Fitbit One) is talking to and updating the Fitbit servers which is why you get complete weekly updates that also contrast with the prior weeks - i.e improvement or not over the previous week. Also you can get the App to track the current day - which means the device is successfully communicating with it on your iPhone as well. Where things break down is when your App tries to communicate with the Fitbit servers - it can't read the historical data on the servers. This is not a device problem, or an iPhone (or Android phone) problem - it is a programming problem.

My Fitbit app is still not displaying steps from my Fitbit One properly. They are being recorded properly in the server because they are syncing with a work fitness program properly. I am on IPhone 13 and latest OS. When is the app going to be fixed???? I can’t see any step data since August 27, and I am generating it every day.

Hi @LizzyFitbit --
It's been two weeks since you last posted on this topic-- any news you can offer us? Your last posting asked that we all report model and OS version of our phones and a bunch of us did that. Can you share anything about what happened with that information? You've also suggested that your engineering colleagues are working on a fix for this-- is that still true? Personally I'm committed to waiting for a fix-- I strongly prefer my Fitbit One and want very badly to continue using it. But others on this thread may have different ideas about waiting. Any information you can share about timelines would be *incredibly* valuable-- even if it's just a rough guess. It'd also be very useful to know if you've decided not to fix this bug-- so we can move on to other solutions as needed. But the current lack of information makes it difficult to make decisions about how to proceed.
Again, thanks for your past updates and for any information you can offer...

I’m in the same boat. I love Fitbit and my tracker. Would love to keep using it, and hoping the fixes will come through. Would be great to get an update - even if negative - so we can make some decisions on path forward. Thanks for keeping us updated @LizzyFitbit

Update: Sorry, the post below was apparently premature. The steps below actually don't seem to fix the "zero steps" problem-- I'm confused as to what changed but the step data displayed when I wrote the post below has now disappeared. Sorry for the confusion...
Hi everyone--
Good news (maybe): I believe I've found a work-around that restores correct syncing of step data from Fitbit One devices. It's not free and I'm not entirely sure *why* it works but it does seem to work. Here are the details:
Based on a post by @MarcyBT on November 26, I started looking at the Fitbit Inspire 3 as a replacement for my Fitbit One. They were (and still are) on sale at Amazon for $70 so I bought one. It turns out that if you pair an Inspire 3 to the same phone that you've previously paired a One, the result is that step data from the Fitbit One shows up in the iOS app. I believe that both the One and the Inspire 3 need to be syncing with your phone for this to work which implies that both devices need to be charged and near your phone, but it does seem to work.
Link to the Inspire 3 at Amazon, currently on sale for $70 although it looks like that sale price ends later tonight: https://www.amazon.com/Fitbit-Management-Intensity-Tracking-Midnight/dp/B0B5F9SZW7
Other interesting (?) things I've learned:
Open questions:
'Hope this is helpful-- one way to view it is that by paying $70 (plus the future work to keep my Inspire 3 charged) I got my Fitbit One working again. Well worth it for me.

@jsinnott Thanks for trying this out. After the app has failed to provide historical data for 102 days - it is odd that it came down to the user base to try to think solutions rather than the programmers actually delivering.
One question - did you try it without the Fitbit One - and just use the Inspire 3? Thanks again!

I have a fitbit one and had noticed no steps sowing since end of August 2024.
Calories show, my sleep logs show, but no steps.
Steps and other movement show on my device, but not the app.
Seems to be a common issue now.
Ver disappointed with fitbit right now.

@jsinnott If you have just the Inspire 3 paired can you see the historical data (meaning the "zero steps" goes away and you can see everything from Aug 27th forward). Again, thanks for making this effort!!

@dwin : Thanks for this. I have not tried unpairing the Fitbit One but strongly suspect that an Inspire 3 by itself will function correctly. If that weren't the case we'd see (I'm guessing) lots of forum complaints about it. Also, @MarcyBT has (again, I'm guessing) done this and her posts suggest that things are working fine for her.

Hi everyone, and thanks for keeping me posted.
I understand how frustrating this has been for you and appreciate the steps that you've tried on your own. As I mentioned before, this issue has been reported to our team and they're currently working to get it resolved. Currently we don't have a time frame when the fix will be available, but we're keeping our team informed of your situation and we'll update this thread once we have more information.

@jsinnott @MarcyBT Thanks for the info - Two questions: 1) Does the Inspire 3 - track steps, distance, calories, floors and active minutes? 2) Is this a device I can just put in my pants pocket and it will track steps, distance, etc...
---
@MarcyBT Two more question for you - Did the Inspire 3 give you access to all your history? (I have over 10years worth) What is MyFitnessPal? Thanks

1) Yes, the Inspire 3 tracks everything the One tracked.
2) I have never tried just putting it in a pocket, I’ve always worn it on a clip on my waistband. That being said, when you take the Inspire 3 out of the wristband, it looks just like the One so I imagine if the pocket location worked for the One, it would work for the Inspire.
3) No, none of the old steps history came back. Just the calories showed.
4) My fitness pal is another steps/food app that will sync with the Fitbit app. I loved being able to save meals on the Fitbit web dashboard but when they took down the web dashboard that functionality went away. I imagine the meal function will come into the app eventually (because of the complaints) but I couldn’t wait and so I use my fitness pal to pick up my steps from Fitbit and to enter my meals.

@MarcyBT Thank you
@LizzyFitbit @JuanFitbit If I purchase an Inspire 3 - will I get my step, distance, floor, and calorie history back?

Is there a new Fitbit version other than 4.30 (43028005)?
Streak is still broken! It only shows 79 day streak and should be 1,469 days.
I have been told each update will fix it.
I have submitted images of monthly work out to verify the steps each day exceed the goal.
iPhone 12 Pro
iOS Version 18.1.1

@MarcyBT Thank you for all of the information! It was my understanding that the Inspire 3 did not have an altimeter, so did not count floors. Can you confirm? I am still hoping that they will fix the problems and my One's missing statistics will be restored, and it will play nicely with the app. I miss the dashboard as well.
---
@bry1216 I am experiencing issues with the streak as well. I recommitted to meeting my step goal on November 1 and made it through November 5. Even though my Fitbit One is not retaining the daily steps, it did show a five day streak. I have met my goal every day since November 7, and the streak was showing correctly for a while, then a period of no streak data at all, then it started showing up again and is currently showing a twelve day streak. It should be 37 days, and I have verified with my weekly email from Fitbit that the only day I missed meeting my step goal was November 6. I thought that perhaps the streak reset at the beginning of the month, but that doesn't make any sense, and even if that were the case, I am still missing a day for December.
My app version is 4.30 (110146992) but my phone is an Android, and I am using a Fitbit One. I checked the Play Store and that is the most current version for me. I am hoping that all of the many issues get resolved soon!
