Steps not accurate

I've noticed over last two weeks the steps aren't accurate with the miles I'm running. For example, ran 2.5 miles his morning which should be very close to 5,000 steps and my Fitbit was just under 4,300. What can be done to help it become more accurate?

Hey there @pwilkins1416183! Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Let me help you out, by any chance did you adjust your stride length? This helps to get your distance accurate, I also recommend doing the restart this will refresh the internal logs of your and helps to improve the distance accuracy.
