We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

It appears that both texts (iMessages at least) and phone calls are alerting my Versa.

I have done every single thing suggested. Rebooted everything and even deleted the app and reinstalled it and “forgot” device and re paired it and my Charge 3 is no longer showing notifications for texts, calendars and I suspect calls on my iPhone since the iOS 13 update

Come on Fitbit it’s not like you didn’t know this was happening. Is there an update on this yet?

You've closed the other thread and told us to reply in this one but half the people in the other like myself, are in fact on Android so this iOS thread is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard!!

This only resets the setting and does not delete everything on your phone, right?

Correct. The downside is that it shows the message in incoming texts on your phone. Not happy with that.

On my Fitbit Versa, if I switch text messages to show previews to “always” or “when unlocked”, I can get text messages to come through on my watch. However, I refuse to do this. I need the privacy on my phone to where my text messages do not just show up for others to see.

Before iOS 13, I was able to have the privacy of my phone to have text messages show previews “never” and still get the notifications on my watch. Why has this been changed and why hasn’t it been fixed yet?

This is getting ridiculous. Fitbit is seriously getting closer and closer to losing a good amount of customers forever.

Spoiler
I had the same trouble after the update.

I have an iPhone S  and Fitbit charge 3.

This is what worked after multiple attempts of trying the tips!

This will take about  5 minutes or less ...

I took Fitbit off blue tooth (quit).

I then put the Fitbit  on charger & held the button side 8 seconds as in the tips,

until the smiley faced showed.

Then I Put Fitbit back On bluetooth.

It was able to sync the data from the two days It was not working.

I hope this can work for others that have tried other tips unsuccessfully.
