We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

@figsisters2  you might want to edit your posts on here. This is a public forum and you might not want your real name and contact information for everyone to see. Safe is always the best way to go.

Stepping in the U.S.A. since September 2013. Android 14

Glad that worked out. Not sure I can wait it out for two months. And I
definitely do not want to have to resort to a factory reset for my iPhone.
I'm no programmer but surely someone, somewhere can help FitBit out to
resolve this issue.

There’s no answer. Sometimes it works; mostly it doesn’t. Fitbit has to fix this fast or refund everyone their money

They’re not going to refund your money because it’s not a tech issue it’s an iOS issue. Someone already tried that

I have been enjoying my Versa since last a Christmas. I did the last update on my IPhone X. I get every other notification on this thing now EXCEPT my text messages. I have literally done everything you guys have posted about all over the internet. I’ve installed, uninstalled, updated, you name it. I work with 3 people with the exact same problem.  We are not allowed to have our phones out at work so I depend on the watch to keep me updated. We are all three watching Black Friday deals on Apple Watch. I love the fit bit app and watch but we can send people to the moon....this seems like something fixable. I don’t want to spend more money on another watch. And don’t send me that same crappy link to trouble shoot...That ship sailed!

Mine is only a week old. I just complained on Twitter to Fitbit about this. See if they even read it. Maybe everyone should publicly complain.

It’s been over a month since the apple update which affected notifications coming up on the Inspire HR...still no progress? Is Fitbit really doing nothing?

I already tweeted days ago to both Fitbit and Apple. No response.

Apple has nothing to do with this issue it’s Fitbit. They’re doing something wrong with their updates. I just bought myself an Apple Watch and I love it. People who have an Android are having the same issues

I did contact them through messenger & they responded. Say they are “working on it“ and to follow the troubleshooting steps.
Hav e done that multiple times with no success.

I beg to differ. The iOS13 update started all this. For all we know this could be a deliberate oversight on Apple to force us to an Apple Watch, as many have said they are switching.

Seriously. Let’s get an update put together so that Fitbit can actually be compatible with apple iOS 13 🙄 I’ve been waiting for it to work for nearly a month now. I’m about ready to ditch Fitbit all together.

In order words, they don’t know how to fix it

Just heard from Fitbit on Twitter. They suggested a few things, but the one I never tried was going on my phone under Bluetooth, choosing Forget this Device for the Fitbit, then going on the Fitbit app and setting up notifications again. This time it worked. So hopefully it stays that way. Give it a shot

Hi...it has now been a couple of months since ios 13 came out and which caused a miriad of problems for some fitbits and still no fix? I still cannot receive any text/email or messaging service notifications on my blaze and I have done all the usual fixes that are out there. Fitbit have gone very quiet about what they are doing about it ie can the issue actually be solved, how far along the solution process are they etc. I have started to train for the London 2020 Marathon and I need a tracker that actually works so I guess it may be time to ditch Fitbit altogether and move to another company with better customer service and products that work

I’ve tried this a few times but it doesn’t work for me.

It's unbelievable that they have not fixed the problem with receving text notifications and phone calls on the Fitbit HR.  I have tried everything that has been suggested and nothing has worked!  Very disappointing that a company with such great trackers can't solve this problem and don't seem to be very responsive to people's frustration from all of the comments that I have read on different blogs and website.

it will work until your phone loses range of your fitbit, then you'll have to do it again. Sick of this...Apple watch on my Christmas list.
