Swapping Trackers without going through whole reinstall process

Aware only one tracker that uses gallery can be added to your Fitbit account on iOS. Not really sure why this has to be because when you click on each tracker to access its settings, don't see why it couldn't just bring up the settings and gallery for that particular tracker.

But irrespective, is there anyway to make changing trackers just a bit easier? I have a few different ones from Versa 3 to the Luxe to Charge 5. Everytime I want to swap I have to remove it from the account and then add the new one back. Problem is it brings you through the whole reinstallation setup like you are adding it as a complete new tracker with all the recommendations on how to wear it etc.

Is there any way you could implement it so that a known previously added tracker could at least skip all these intros when adding it back to your account to try speed up adding it back in? I really miss the days when Fitbit could use multiple trackers on one account.

Hi, @fkm - I got around it by having 2 accounts - all that is necessary is to logout of one account and login to the other.

For the Ionic, Versa, Sense range you can use the SimpleCheckUp app to see when you last synced on the watch rather than having to do the procedure often. It means you only need change accounts about once every 5 days or so.

@fkm   I am with you 100%.  Long time Fitbit users remember that Fitbit didn't always have multi-tracker support.  Users had no choice but to have separate accounts.  Multi-tracker support was a real improvement, one of Fitbit's better improvements, IMO.  Fitbit has never allowed users to merge accounts.  Many users are very motivated by the lifetime badges.  Having separate accounts just for the ease of switching doesn't cut it for those users.

I honestly wish that Fitbit had put more effort into this App Gallery/Multi-Tracker support decision.

How does this work though? It means if you wear your tracker on one account then there will be no fitness data for that duration on the other account?

Is there any way of amalgamating the data so that both FItbit accounts sync their data togehter? I guess you could use a Fitbit Sync app to sync Fitbit data from one account to (in my case of iOS) Apple Health and then sync back to the other Fitbit Account.

It just seems insane that a simple different tracker swap on one account is not possible anymore since Fitbit Gallery was released. I can't see any coding reason why it can't be done - you could even have an option to pause the wearable on the app which you're not wearing so its not constantly trying to sync to it. I guess most don't have 2 or more trackers and it's simply not a high priority for Fitbit.

I never thought of different accounts but it kind of defeats the purpose as I'll be missing data when using the other tracker and I like to track trends daily, preferably to one account.

As you say no way of merging accounts. I mentioned one way around is possibly syncing one Fibit account data to Apple Heatlh and then back to the other Fitbit account but this seems long winded way and there are limitations to this approach.

I simply don't see why they can't code multi-tracker support with the Gallery since it's specific to the tracker and only accessible when you click on the tracker. If you have two trackers, then each has their own separate galleries. I don't see what the issue or technical limitation is here in allowing this.

@fkm-  It does seem odd you can't have 2 devices on one account - however with the newer watches they charge so quickly there is not much need for two watches to have constant data recording.[they will fully charge in less than an hour, or for a day in 15 minutes]

It does avoid the complexity of trying to avoid clashes, in case both are worn simultaneously or their data overlaps or has different tolerances or functionalities.
