Sync in background does not work

Hello,

I have Charge and using iPhone 6 Plus version 9.3.1 for sync

The problem that I experience is that Fitbit sync with no problem when I explecetely open fitbit application on my phone but it does not sync i.e. refresh in background.

In other words fitbit.com will not display any data e.g. Steps until I explecetely open application on my phone. The it'll automatically sync with tracker and I could see this data on fitbit.com

Based on 'customer support' response to this issue sync should happened in background as well but it's not my case.

Does anyone experience similar issue? Could it be with the latest iOS update and how to fix it?

Note: I have Firmware 110. Customer support suggesed me to update it to V 122 but it states that I already have the latest version.

Hello my friend, welcome to the Community @susja Smiley Very Happy! First of all, don't pay attention to the Firmware version since you have the Charge and the V122 is for the Charge HR. Yours have the latest one!

On a side note, do you have "All-Day-Sync" enable? See here the steps in order to activate it:

  • Go to your dashboard and hit "Account"
  • Hit the icon of your Fitbit tracker
  • Scroll down and enable the "All-Day Sync" option

Hope this helps!

Thanks for getting back @susja Woman Very Happy! Yeah, that's weird... Try the following:

  • Log out of your Fitbit App
  • Force quit the App
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit App

Test your Fitbit app once more to see if the option works.

Well ... I did all the steps you suggested.

After I started my phone and turned on Bluetooth I noticed that data was updated on fitbit.com.

That's great BUT I have to watch this more and see if it'll continue sync in background.

It's not practical to do this procedure every time I need sync or even explicitely open application.

My expectation is that it should sync itself in background.

Thank you anyway so far for the effort to help.

I'll update you soon with my progress

Well ... unfortunately it was not longterm solution.

I still have to open application on my phone and wait for a short while.

Then it'll automatically sync with tracker and update my data on fitbit.com

Not sure where the problem is ..

Hello, I am having the exact same problem with the exact same product. I mainly want to have reported the exact moment I fall asleep reported to the iPhone , but it seems like this will not work unless sync is working and that will not work ( for me) unless Fitbit app is running in the foreground.

Hi I have an iPhone 8 and a Versa 2 connected to it and it also doesn’t sync all day and yes I have all-day sync on it. With my last phone which was an LG it synced no problem but it seems with the iPhone you need to run the app in the background in order for it to sync
