Sync issue charge 3

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So, I now join the exclusive club of having fitbit that doen't sync, pair or whatever.

I had a look various post, topics etc. to see if I could resolve myself but not luck. My phone is an iPhone 7 & the fitbit is a charge 3. If I open the app, there's no device listed under my account & calories is displayed instead of steps etc.

This must have happened sometime today after logging my lunchtime feast 😄

So, I try to setup the device against the account, it will not pair with the incredibly helpful "something went wrong..." message. I then restart the fitbit, phone, app & bluetooth. There is no change.  I update the iOS on the phone & no change. I remove & re-install the fitbit app, no change. Finally, I remove & forget the connected deivce on the phones blue tooth menu & try again... ..there is no change!! (after this, I did try & pair with a Windows 10 computer but, that did not work either, just a different error message).

So, this type of issu seems to be common but, after these steps there's no further suggestion. There's also no mention about loss of data.

At the moment, if I logon to the dashboard via the computer\internet browser, I do not see any historic data at all & it was like this before I started any of suggested fixes.

I'm wondering if something else is going on here. The historic data surley cannot be held on the device (or indeed be the master version on th phone). I would of thought this would have a sat with whoever fitbit host their cloud services with. So, I'm wondering whether someone has pressed the wrong button somewhere & deleted me?!!

Hello @Chilla-X thanks for bringing this to my attention, welcome to the Community Forums!

Seems odd that you're experiencing syncing difficulties with your Charge 3 and iPhone 7, thanks for troubleshooting this situation prior to posting, your effort and patience are appreciated. Please try the following troubleshooting steps on your iOS mobile device and let me know how it goes:

  1. Restart your Charge 3.
  2. Please on the phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth, and remove all the connections that exist with the device. (Forget device, ignore or unpair depending on the version of the operating system of the phone)
  3. Turn off the Bluetooth and restart the phone.
  4. When the iPhone 7 is back on, turn the Bluetooth on again but do not attempt to connect to the Fitbit from here.
  5. Go on the app and try setting up the Charge 3 as a new device.

Let me know how it goes, thanks for all the details that were shared in your post. Let me share with you that you were not deleted, please try the above steps and keep me posted so I can investigate further this uncommon situation.

See you around.
