@MarilynJ Welcome to the Fitbit Community! To sync your tracker with your iPad; I will recommend to follow these troubleshooting steps to sync with iOS devices. Also, make sure your iPhone is not nearby when syncing with the iPad, that may interfere with the signal. You can do so by turning off Bluetooth on your iPhone in the meanwhile it syncs with the iPad.
