Text Message Notifications Not Showing Up On Fitbit Watch

I have both a Fitbit Alta and a Fitbit Versa.  Neither of them will receive text message notifications when I get a text.  They will both show incoming calls but that's it.  I've checked all the settings and everything is on. Unpaired and repaired everything multiple times. Did the bluetooth stuff. Did the trouble shoot stuff multiple times. Nothing will bring up those text notifications.  The notifications option doesn't even show up at all on the app or watch with the Versa so I went back to my older Alta.  The Alta at least has the notifications option on the app.  I haven't been able to receive text notifications on my watch for months.  My iphone did a software update one time a number of months ago and I haven't been able to receive text notifications ever since.  Everything is up to date on the phone and it's not an old phone.  What's going on?  Why won't the message preview show up on the fitbit no matter what I do?

I have the EXACT problem and many-month-long issues. It all started with an iOS software update in September 2019. I’ve tried everything suggested by Fitbit and this forum. Absolutely nothing works and Fitbit seems aware but clueless.

That's about when mine went bad too! I've spend hours in Chat with Fitbit and even some time on the phone and they don't seem to have an answer ever since. I'm currently wearing the Fitbit Alta (it's an older version) and it will show incoming calls but won't show incoming texts.  I noticed when I set up the Alta again and looked at the information for the Versa; notification wasn't even an option on the app with the Versa but it is there for the Alta. I don't know what happened, but one of those iOS updates between August 2019 and September 2019 messed up everything that was working just fine with my watches before.
