Text and Calls not showing up on Fitbit Alta from Iphone SE

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've read through the the other community posts associated with this and none of the suggestions have solved the problem. My Iphone is currently running IOS 11.0.3. I have all the settings turned on as suggested in the comments by the community. Occasionally I will get a vibration when my phone receives a text, but no texts appear on the fitbit.

This hasn't always been an issue, for the few 3 months that I had it, the messages would appear on my fitbit just fine. My fitbit's software is up to date as well and my Iphone.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hello @Maysh94, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Which troubleshooting steps have you tried in order to try to resolve this issue? Have you restarted your tracker and your phone? Have you reset Bluetooth on your phone by turning it off and on again? If so, my best recommendation would be setting up your tracker as a new device to reset the connection between your Alta and your phone. Don't worry, none of the information previously stored in your account will be deleted.

To set up your tracker as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.

After setting up your tracker as a new device, in the Fitbit app go to Account > Alta > Notifications and enable them once again.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I have this same problem.  It started happening when the IOS 11 update came out and my Alta hasn't vibrated with a text message since.  At first, I was told it was a bug, so I checked back and was sent a new pebble, received and set up my new pebble yesterday and it is still not receiving texts.  I've troubleshot all the problems again like my first one and still no fix.

Hello @NikkiD69 and @Hmnorton, thanks for joining the conversation, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

@Hmnorton, which tracker are you currently using? Have you restarted it and your phone lately? Please note that some trackers have a "Do Not Disturb" mode that will prevent them from receiving Notifications. To check this, please try the following:

  • Blaze—Hold the top right button for 3 seconds.
  • Charge 2—On the clock screen, press and hold the button for 2 seconds
  • Ionic—On the clock screen, swipe right to bring up the shortcuts screen. Make sure you can receive notifications from your phone.
  • Surge—Swipe the touchscreen until you get to the Settings menu, then find Notifications.

@NikkiD69, have you restarted your Alta and your phone recently? If so, I would like to suggest you and @Hmnorton to reset Notifications from the app itself.

To reset Notifications:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Your tracker > Notifications and enable them again.
  4. Tap OK when you're asked to pair the tracker to your phone.

Additionally, go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure the following is enabled:

Yes, all that has been tried more than once. Several times with my
previous Alta and with the replacement that was sent to me last week. I've
been informed twice via chat that it's possibly a "bug" that has not been
worked out yet.
