Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

And…it officially is awful. Hate that you can’t change exercise category because it’s totally wrong (swimming applies to 45 minutes of hard rowing). Don’t like the drab look. Hard to find stats. Etc.

What is the point of the device anymore? I have just bust a gut for 45 minutes on the treadmill at the gym, whilst wearing my fitbit as always on my left (non-dominant) wrist and it has FAILED to recognise my exercise!! WTF?? Before this latest 'improvement' it was fine, and always recognised my exercise. Waste of time wearing it now. Will look at other fitness trackers...

Fitbit has started releasing version 4.06. It will take them approximately two weeks to roll the date out to all users. So in two weeks you can expect to see a notice in the iOS forum that version 4.06 is now available.I will be interesting to hear people who’ve updated to 406 experiences.

I really dislike this new version of the app. I used to very much enjoy going in and seeing the spikes in activity at all the points throughout my workout. That was very important to me. I am not a highly active person and I found it encouraging and it made me feel good to look at that.

Please put that back.

So I’ve just spoken to Fitbit customer service and apparently data only saves if you reach your daily goal (but they couldn’t answer why it doesn’t save when you do).
In any case, I want a refund because when I agreed to their terms and conditions, it was for a different product. My purchase was for a charge 5 that tracked and provided metrics on the UI. Now I have almost no information (no heart rate, no mapping, no detailed info on workouts let alone accurate swim data) and can’t connect with others to share goals/messages (and also have an Ace 3 that is totally unusable). So much for being a Fitbit customer for 9 years…

@PodunkGood to know there’s a new update available/coming.

curious though, Is there a reason that there’s no v4.05? I can see v4.06 in the App Store now.

I’m on v4.04 now but I may wait to install v4.06 until I know what it will do. Personally I don’t want to risk any more issues or have any functionality removed.

I’ve had a Fitbit since 2017…. I’m so  disappointed in the latest update. Please restore the heart-tracking system with peak/zones for workouts! This was one of the main uses for me. At this point, I would not recommend this product to my active duty commands or their families!!

Absolutely **ahem** app… Please revert back to the previous one !!!!!!!!

I am on v4.06 of the App now. Just updated a few hours ago. It is still the same rubbish.

@MelvinL  So nothing different in v4.06? No enhancements? I was really hoping that this could be a rewind and that we’d be back on the legacy Fitbit version once again.

Best Answer

Nope, nothing different. No map/heart rate data with workouts; no detailed metrics; no differentiating visuals. I was hoping it would be an improvement given the insistence of customer service that the new update would address my issues. They clearly aren’t listening to their customers. I guess it’s time to change device ecosystem, which is incredibly frustrating!

Can confirm.  v4.06 is the same garbage.  No heart rate bar or line graph displayed for your exercise.  Hilarious, because when you go to share said exercise, you can still see the line graph showing heart rate data there.  Comforting knowing the data exists, but ridiculous that it is not being displayed within the app where it should be.

Forget about ‘old’ Fitbit. Google bought it and is altering it to fit their
Pixel platform. Doubtful the legacy Fitbit will ever be seen again.

And it’s in the old colors. I just shared it with myself via a text message and it looks lovely. I hope they don’t notice.

Hi, you can still see this, but only because google botched taking it out every where. Pick exercise, e. g. Outdoor bike, share this is what I see.
