Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!

I really dislike the new app! It’s boring and confusing! I keep making the changes as to what I want to focus on and then press “save” but it comes back the wrong way!
how can I go back to the previous app display, Im just so upset and confused with this new one, it makes no sense. The colour even makes it so sad and not interesting to navigate in….
please change it back!!!!

The new update sucks. Ever since google has taken over it has just been disappointing. First taking away the challenges that used to motivate and connect friends and family from across the country and even world!! Now it has taken the fun from it even more with this new sterile aesthetic. It is confusing- everything looks the same. I hate that I have to choose what my motivation is. I really hope google doesn't ruin things like it did with nest. Hire back whoever you need to hire back google stick with what you know which is navigation and searching. These disappointing changes are so aggressive and not user friendly at all. I used to check my app multiple times a day and now I am agitated when I do. I'm sorry to say if things don't go back to how they were before I when my fitbit breaks again which it will I will be switching over to Apple watch. This is also a testimony to how much I loved the fitbit watch and app, my fitbit would die, break, stopworking and I would continune to purchase knowing that the cycle would continue. That's how much I enjoyed this product and now it's sad to admit that since google went buck wild with their changes its might just be the end of this 8 year relationship 😞

I just looked at some videos of the garmin connect app. It looks nice, kinda like the fitbit app use to look. The Venu 3 is pricy, it looks like there are other wearables available. It's cheaper than the Apple Watch. Looks like a good option, thanks for pointing this out. I will most likely be moving away from the fitbit devices the next time I buy one in a year or so unless fitbit makes some dramatic changes. I'm getting tired of have to manually put in my sleep. That's a recent phenomenon, started before this last update, but it's gotten worse since the update.

This new version of the app is really disappointing… The issue is that the main “screen” was updated but the “other layers/screens” were not. Thank God they left the “inside” screens not updated…I repeat: I just wanna the older version back!!!

Have you had issues with the sleep logging on the Inspire 2?

! know I will change when my premium membership expires if they don't clean these "glitches " up asap . I find the issues with sleep the worse but there are several issues . My Fitbit often freezes when I try to sync ,the stress management scored go days without showing and the battery life has greatly been reduced ! How disappointing ,I always felt that Google had their act together in terms of skills but your right maybe they need to stay search and navigate. I have had to delete and add new sleep times EVERYDAY since the "new" launched, if not I only get 2-3 hours recorded . I've gone from sensitive sleep to normal with no improvement. I didn't have ANY problem before the change

Agree!!! Appears to be a step backward. I hate it.

Is there a way for us to get back to the old version?
Usually updates are fine with me, I don’t mind change, but I STRONGLY dislike this new face page on the app. It’s hard to read. Hard on the eyes/looks messy to me. The previous version was much easier to glance at and know how you were doing for the day/week. Not to be a hater but I really don’t understand how a group of people could vote and have this version pass. Please change

Mine shows my sleep hours at the top, and the sleep hours are always wrong, so that information is useless. I want to see the steps too.

PLEASE go back to the old version. The new screen is boring (white), doesn't show steps in the largest font (instead it shows sleep, which is always wrong), and it has stopped syncing with my FitBit. Worst upgrade ever. I'm sure you meant well, but this is not an improvement. Thanks.

UPDATE 10/7:
Well after using the new app for a bit, I have to say it really isn’t all that bad. I know I really went off on it a few weeks ago, but after a few hours with it, I’m fine with it. Not as nice looking as previous versions, and I really wish they’d put back the battery percentage number when you pull down to sync, but life goes on. Google’s gonna Google, you either have to roll with it or get left behind I guess.

I figured out how to adjust it and navigate it on the first day. But it’s still a horrible interface, a terrible design that is less functional, and ugly as hell to look at compared to what we had with the last one. Let’s not give into our data mining overlords. Let’s expect them to do a good job in order for us (the people that make them rich) to be happy with their work/product!

I hate the new app! Not easy to read and it’s a blah boring screen. Had to ruin a good thing. Now I don’t want to even bother looking at it like I did before. More difficult to analyze data.

Back in the day with the old app, I could immediately tell how many fat burn minutes I had vs the number of cardio minutes with ease, now thanks to the new app ( see attached screenshot ) , I have to do mental math and maybe some guesswork to figure it out. When I am working out, I have targets for each zone such as 45 cardio vs 15 fat burn ,etc.. I can no longer do that. Time to say good bye to the fitbit ecosystem, you guys have no idea about the kind of harm you new app has inflicted on your customers. I will move to Samsung , Garmin or the Apple watch.
Do you even listen to your customers concerns? I am just curious.

I agree. I own an Apple Watch and I tell everyone I prefer Fitbit. But not anymore. I had over 20,000 steps yesterday and it shows up with 600?! It goes backwards and the app doesn't sync with the Fitbit.

After many years of color blind users complaining about the color combinations in use (ie, oxygen variability), you'd think someone at Fitbit/Google would get some ADA sensibility and use the availability of websites that permit the testing for color blind users.
If I'm not being clear, the app's UI sucks for color blind users.

Not a fan of the new app!! In the old app you could zoom in on sleep, exercise, heart rate reports etc to see much more detailed minute by minute data. You can no longer zoom in at all? Seems like we have gone backwards instead of forwards and are getting much less detailed data!? Why would they so this? Am I missing something does anyone understand what I am saying and have a solution?

Apple? I use an Android phone so an Apple watch won't work. I did find that restarting my Charge 5 after turning of the heartbeat monitor and then turning it back on resolved (so far) the 90% sleep score failure (as in "failing to provide a sleep score 90% of the time"). I'll make do with the Charge 5 for another few years until someone makes a decent health/sleep tracker for a lot less $$. I'll try out a Garmin or Samsung then but will make sure I can return it after a month or two if it's not reliable.
I will comment that the Charge 5 detected my Afib which led me to the hospital and probably saved my life so I will cut the company a bit of slack. I know Google will be killing off the Fitbit brand eventually but as long as I can still get my sleep scores and steps, etc., I'm okay.
