Time zone not chaging automatically.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got an iPhone 8 Plus and live in Kansas. The time zone will not update automatically with my location. Even if I manually try and change it, it defaults to Los Angeles. I have tried multiple times and synchronization multiple times to no avail. My IOS is updated to the latest version.

Sometimes problems like that cam be fixed by changing to a known incorrect time zone, sync, then change back to correct time zone and sync again.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thank you for the response. I have tried that and it’s still remaining in Los Angeles.

Hello @MichelleL73, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @JohnnyRow, thanks for all your help. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that your Fitbit device should automatically update the timezone when you sync it. However, if this is not happening, please restart your device and sync it again. Make sure to go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Advanced Settings and make sure Timezone has been set to Automatic.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

I’m having exactly the same problem. I’m currently in France but my time zone is stuck on los Angeles. I have tried setting it both manually and automatically but every time it just goes back to Los Angeles. I’m using an iPhone 7 on iOS 12.2 and  I have restarted my device twice and reinstalled the app as well. I hope someone can help me because I have no idea what to do now.

Welcome on board @Sebc141, it's nice to see you around here! Thanks for already restarting your device and for reinstalling the Fitbit app. Nice way to go!

Usually, that kind of trouble gets fixed when adjusting the time zone all over again. Now, as you are using the Fitbit app for iOS devices, we are going to try something different to fix this, please follow:

  • Log in to the Fitbit app and go to "account" and then to "advanced settings".
  • Turn off the "set up automatically" option for the time zone and change it to a different one, then sync.
  • Turn on the "set up automatically" option again and input the right time zone and sync.

This should work, but if for some reason it doesn't, these tips about travelling with your Fitbit tracker should also help.

Let us know if the steps work, we'll be around!

Thanks for the help but it’s still not working. The problem is it switches back to Los Angeles time before I even get to sync my Fitbit.

Hi there @Sebc141, thanks for coming back and for trying the recommendations provided.

Please follow the steps suggested in this post. In case the timezone keeps switching to LA time,  I'd recommend deleting your city and then change your timezone on the same page. It should finally save as my friend @Vivstepper suggested here
