Today's tip uses Fahrenheit for European user

The app should better take into account that some people and geographies prefer Celsius over Fahrenheit, especially when this is set in the device or the app.

the tips should take this setting into account because they are useless otherwise

(About 99% of the world population uses Celsius btw)

Hi there, @Turbotrieb.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I understand where you're coming from as the Fitbit app should take your personal settings when providing you with insights on the Today's screen. Because this isn't the case, could you confirm if the insight was related to the temperature? If that's correct, did you make sure the temperature settings have the correct units?

In the meantime, let's try the following:

  1. Forget your Fitbit device from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Check if the Fitbit app is updated.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Double check if the units of measurement are still correct in your profile.
  5. Open the Fitbit app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.

Keep an eye on the Today's screen and if the insights appear with the incorrect unit again, take a screenshot and attach it to your reply so I can investigate on my end.

Thanks for getting back.

I said (implied) in my post that I have set the correct unit in the app.

the tip on today’s screen was a recommendation for a certain bedroom temperature range for better sleep.

fitbit shouldn’t require me to go through any steps to show me the right units… (have no time/will for that) and I believe units are correct on all dashboards for instance.

i have a hunch that this today’s insight was written with a hard coded temperature instead.

Hi there, @Turbotrieb.

Thanks for getting back and taking the time to review the information provided above. I'm sorry if my previous post caused any inconvenience. Some Fitbit devices have two sets of settings, one for the Weather app temperature, and the other for skin temperature. For this reason, I wanted to confirm with you if the correct steps were followed.

I understand your point of view and if by any chance you'd like to continue working on this situation, please give a try to the steps suggested above. If you receive an insight with the incorrect units, take a screenshot and attach it to your reply as this will help me to investigate.

The weather app also has the right unit set inside the Fitbit app and shows the right unit (Celsius) on the device

Could you check with the team who authored the „today’s insight“ whether they used a hardcoded Fahrenheit temperature in their tip for a proper bedroom temperature instead? That would keep the investigation work on Fitbit side. I am sure this will be easy to find out as they won’t have many tips on proper bedroom temperatures sent out recently 🙂

Btw I appreciate you working on this and reacting to my post at all. Other companies might not even do that 🙂
