Tracked exercise not showing heart rate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I updated my app this morning and I went for a walk and used the track exercise. I have an Alta HR, however, the heart rate dies not show in the tracked exercise. This is why I have the HR. This has been an issue for over a month, has been on this forum for over a month and still no answers.

Good grief, go get a version of the app from earlier last Summer, and see what it does. Find the places in the code where the heart line chart is displayed and work backwards to the chart rendering code then back to the place where heart data are obtained from history.

if you manually log an exercise with the same start time and duration as your tracked exercise, the chart is created. Copy those calls and plug them back into the exercise tracking code.

So there are two approaches offered. No excuse now.

What a staggering response!

So many customers would have so many issues resolved and be happy if they simply wound back the app and firmware updates to June or July.

Sadly  confirms my decision to change to an unnamed brand (which rhymes with Barman). In addition, as a runner, while more more expensive the replacement is a far superior device.

No fix on recent update!!! Looks like I purchased a substandard product. I'll have to spread the word so others don't make the same mistake. Hard to believe they can't find a fix when it wasn't broken and working in the first place. HR displays when you utilise exercise function on charge 3. But like most others I assume I like to measure distance as well as HR. Just reading the fitbit charge 3 ad page

Comments  like

"Use 24/7 heart rate to better track calorie burn, optimise workouts and uncover health trends."  &  "Our most advanced tracker ever" are a little misleading. Don't you think?

I have a blaze and they’ve finally replaced it with a new one after much to-Ing and fro-ing. I’m not confident this will last forever, but at least I have a good as new blaze back. I’m worried that it will malfunction and then be unfixable again. My feeling is, I’ll use this one and I’m grateful, but I doubt I’ll stick with Fitbit long term.

Customer service needs to improve and products need to be usable especially where they are rendered useless by their upgrade. They have a moral duty to their customers which I don’t think they have at their core. Never seen a reply from Fitbit to this thread.

Hi everyone. Thanks for participating in this thread, as well for sharing more details about this situation. I apologize for my delayed response.

I appreciate each of you for reporting this issue about the heart rate not appearing when recording your exercisers using either SmartTrack to auto-recognize them or the exercise app from your Fitbit device. Our team has received your feedback and they're investigating this behavior experienced with the Fitbit app to bring a solution as soon as possible. I totally understand where are you coming from about not being able to see this data logged in your account and be sure that your comments haven't gone unnoticed. Currently there isn't a time frame for the fix and I'll update this thread once I have more details.

Don't hesitate to reply back if you have another question.

Strava!! synch it to the fitbit app. Just went for a short bike ride. Strava sent through HR for that session. Doesn't show elevation however which is good to look at sometimes.

Wow. Here we are in 2020 and still no fix. Fitbit clearly doesn't care about this issue since it doesn't impact the majority of Fitbit users. It is sad that such a high profile company can't do its due diligence and look into an issue that has been going on for 6 months.

Do any moderators want to speak up and say something other than "We are still working on this problem."? Any moderators want to tell the truth?

Same here. Still not working!! Time to find another brand. Looks like Garmin will be selling more products!

They’ll delete your post because you mentioned another brand’s name. BUT that would mean they would have to pay attention to us to see the post. I definitely agree. Fitbit is going down the drain fast and they need to figure out how to to treat customers if they want to retain customers.

Thanks for letting me know. I doubt they're paying any attention though. This problem has been around quite awhile 😞

Looks like Fitbit is not even reading the posts because if they had, your earlier post mentioning a brand would have been deleted. More worrying!

April 2020 now - still the same problem. It’s an absolute disgrace that Fitbit know about this issue and are doing nothing about it. I’ve been a Fitbit customer many years but am beginning to think it’s time to change brand.

None of the recent updates have fixed this problem. This feature was one of my my main reason to get a fitbit.

Honestly a bit frustrated that it’s taken almost a year for this to not be fixed.. thinking I might jump ship. Really frustrating though as I updated to an HR for specifically this.

@LizzyFitbit  any update? It has been 8 months and FIibit's silence is astonishing. There are no moderators responding to these posts and the Fitbit community is frustrated. What is being done to fix this issue?

There was a new update recently that updated the app so you can track your heart rate by GPS on your exercises. This would be great feature if it could be used by anyone, but this would mean that our heart rate would need to be able to track, which is precisely the problem.

Frustrated and angry, please give at least some response.

I think they are only interested in supporting new products.

Fitbit removed a feature last year, for unknown reasons. I came up with a
workaround, which is to create a manual exercise entry exactly
corresponding to the one for which you wanted the heart rate information.
You do get a line chart for that period, with max and mean information, but
it does not map to your route-- eg no km or mile markers on the time line (
which is really useful to me).

I have the impression fitbit is in decline or something, and have given up
meaningful support for this app. I only wish I could find an alternative
that would gather heart rate information from fitbit. So far, no luck.
I think an Apple Watch would do the trick to replace Fitbit, but it is
expensive.

I’m new to Fitbit and have also noticed this issue. Heart rate data works fine all the time yet when I track a walk and go to look at the heart rate zones of my walk it says not enough heart rate data available. Yet when the app auto-recognises a walk it has the heart rate and zone data, no problem.
Why hasn’t this bug been fixed yet if people were reporting it from July 2019?!
thanks
