Tracker is unable to set up to my iphone or computer

I just received a used fitbit flex from a friend.  I charged it, got the lights, etc. but it will not sync to my iphone 5 or to my Mac computer.  It seems like maybe something is wrong with the tracker?  Any help/advice would be great!  Thanks.

If your Fitbit Flex is not able to set up with your phone, I would like to suggest the following:

 

  1. Restart your tracker
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Make sure the app is up to date by going to the App Store and checking if Fitbit is under the Update list, if it's not there, that means you currently have the latest version.
  4. Plug in your tracker and make sure it's charging, then try to set it up once again:
    • Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
    • Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue

Give it a try and if your tracker is still not able to set up, please check @MarreFitbit's excellent instructions about how to set up your tracker using a computer
