Tracking cycling

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Only had my FB a week. Went cycling today about 4-5 miles, couple small hills included and pushed myself to put a lot of effort in. When I got home the dashboard steps were basically the same, I had zero active minutes and had only burnt 40 calories.

This doesnt seem right.

Do you have any experience in this area please

Hello @eyeline, thanks for joining us, have a warm welcome to the Community! Smiley Happy

What kind of tracker do you have? Most of our tracker now come with SmartTrack, that will detect your exercise and will record it accordingly. In this case I would like to suggest the following:

  1. Restart your tracker
  2. Go to the Device Settings on the Fitbit website
  3. Scroll down until you see Automatically Recognized Exercises, in here you can check and adjust how long will it take for the exercise will be auto-recognized.
  4. Check if you have an Outdoor Bike exercise and change the time to 10 minutes which is the minimum.
  5. Sync your tracker to save the settings.

Now, after you go cycling once again, make sure the activity lasts longer than 10 minutes, then sync your tracker and check the Fitbit app to verify if it was autorecognized. If it wasn't, my best recommendation would be contacting our Support Team. Let them know about the steps you've performed so far, I'm sure they will be more than happy to assist you further.

Give it a try and keep me posted! Smiley Wink

Thanks Marco

It is the Flex 2

I have seen the Cylcle tracking  listed and the 10min minimum and it is ticked as on.

I shall try  your other suggestions and let you know how I get on. Thanks
