Today if I click on the search bar to find a food it only allows me to create a custom food - no search results appear no matter what I type. This is the case before and after updating. I also deleted and reinstalled the app.

Same here. The bar code scanner is also gone. A lot of my recent foods did not load. And the search just ain't searching. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Logged out and in. Restarted my phone. Nothing helped.
From the comments it looks like a worldwide problem. I’m a T1Diabetic and it’s a real pain to find a substitute app. Fitbit food tracking is the simplest and easiest app for the purpose. Google bought Fitbit but may not want to support legacy users in favor of their Pixel related products.
This has been happening to me for two days. I have tried the following today with no success.
I'm at a loss as to what i can try now.
It's an app issue and support have no estimate on a time frame, could be days, could be months, they wouldn't say. It won't work again till an update is released.
Best AnswerI am in Canada, and I am having the same issue with both the scanning barcode function and the search function. I can only add food that is already in my history. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. This started happening about 20 hours ago.
@JuanFitbit, do you have any comment on this glitch that is preventing us from being able to log in our food?
