Unable to Set up Charge 2 on Ipad

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I'm unable to add Charge 2 to the Ipad app, there is no "Setup new Device" button on the Account page.

I have no idea how this ipad works, it's a gift for the kids. I want to use it for the fitbit because all Android devices we own are incompatible with the fitbit (shame on you). But now I'm stuck with an ipad I don't want, which also isn't cooperating on syncing the charge... feeling doomed!

What I did so far:

I reinstalled the app.

I logged out and on again (there is no welcome screen that invites me to link a device after logging in)

I powercycled the ipad

I switched off and on the bluetooth

I go to Account settings

There is no "Setup new Device" button.

So please, what am I doing wrong?

Oh, btw, I want to change my community name/handle but can't find a place to do that either.

Hello @mrvanes, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

This seems like a very odd situation, would it be possible for you to take a screenshot of what you're able to see in the Account tab then reply to me with it? To upload pictured in your reply, please follow these steps

Now, about your Community name, I'm really sorry but at this moment it's not possible to be changed.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.

Hello @mrvanes, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply and send me the picture, I appreciate it. Smiley Happy

At this moment I would like to ask you to check if your iPad model is supported in our list of compatible devices. If your iPad is compatible, please update the Fitbit app, as we have just released a new version, and check if the button is now available.

If it's not compatible, that might be the reason why the Set up a New Device button is not showing up, in which case I would like to ask you to try setting up your tracker using another mobile device or using a PC/laptop or a Mac computer.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I've updated the app (I think, the version is 2.41.1, okt 9, 2017).

The iPad is an "iPad 2", model A1395 (2011). I can only find "Apple iPad Air 2" and "Apple iPad Mini 2nd Gen" in the drop-down? Does that mean the iPad isn't supported? It runs IOS 9.3.5, should be fine I guess?

The previous owner of this iPad assured me he synced his fitbit with this iPad before we got it?

I don't own any Windows based laptop or Mac. Linux and Android only here. Like I said, none of the Android devices can be paired with the fitbit.

The lack of updates is exemplary for the state of fitbit's affairs I assume.... it's kind of disrespectful. But why would you care? The fitbit's sold and the money is in...
