Unable to log water with Today tab shortcut

Is anyone else experiencing issues with FitBit's iOS app (Version 4.39) in logging the amount of water consumed throughout a given day? The 'plus' sign located at the bottom right-hand corner of the main UI used to function flawlessly, allowing me a short cut to enter oz of water consumed. All of the sudden, the top bar where it says "Save" or "Cancel" has disappeared. Once I attempt to log via the plus sign, it will not allow me to cancel, so I have to manually close the app.

Hello @carsito and welcome to the Community.  I noticed this, too.  You can give feedback directly to Fitbit/Google in the Fitbit app.  Tap on your profile picture, then Send feedback.  I did.  More feedback will help bring attention to this bug.  Fitbit calls that “+” sign a floating action button.  I always try to use Fitbit’s terms when giving feedback.

All of a sudden today I can’t log water in my app on my iOS. I’ve closer and restarted my phone, deleted and redownloaded my app. The only temporary solution that was working was editing my dashboard to not include water then add it back. Now nothing works. Any help would be appreciated with this issue.

Same for me, but I can log it on my Sense or by selecting the water tile in the app and then logging from that screen.

Hello, @LZeeW and thanks for the response.

I've taken you up on the suggestion of sending feedback to Google within FitBit's app.

Have they responded to you? Typically, I've had little to no response or acknowledgement from devs after leaving feedback within apps or online.

Thanks!

@carsito   There is a box at the bottom of the page that says Google may email for more information, but I never check it.  I wouldn't expect a response even if I did.

It's a good thing that tapping on the water tile still works, but that is an extra step.

Since the latest app update, the save/cancel options are not available for logging water when using the floating plus icon. It can still be logged by selecting the water tile

Hello, @brucewayne89

I, too, had posted about this just before you did. I noticed that I can no longer log water consumption via the floating action button within the iOS app. You can still technically scroll all the way down to log via the 'Nutrition' section, albeit this is the long way verses logging via floating action button.

If you hear any updates, or notice an update that addresses the bug, please let all of us know here.

Lastly, I also tried all of the troubleshooting steps you've exhausted, to which, none of the above worked for me either.

Hi @Sweet3n1

Thank you for reaching out. It appears this discussion is in the wrong category. I will now move it to the correct iOS app category.

Just ran another update that was available for the app, but this was still not resolved. Still have to use “back door” option to log water.

(Never mind, I found it, now I just don’t know how to delete this post, 🤪) Also, I didn’t intend to mark this as “best answer” but didn’t see any option to reverse that accidental action.

Thank you for providing the details, screenshot, and the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I wanted to let you know that we've escalated the issue with the Today tab water shortcut to our team, and they're working on a fix.

I understand how you're feeling about this situation and appreciate your feedback. Rest assured that I'll keep you informed as soon as new information becomes available.

Looks like a fix has been released, it works now 😊

Thanks 👍

Terrible Terrible Terrible- this needs to be fixed now.  I've lost faith with this app and candidly hate to rely on it anymore.  They modify your water log data- do not respond with any helpful resolution.

Hi @KTORIBIO1   A fix is rolling out.  If you don't have v 4.40, check the App Store and download it.  There is a down side to this fix, though.  It corrupted my old data.  That's been reported to Fitbit.

Hi there, @Filbo and @KTORIBIO1@LZeeW Thanks for your help.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. I understand how frustrating this can be, and as our friend mentioned, our team is working hard to get this resolved as soon as possible. Please make sure to keep the Fitbit app updated.

Just to clarify, this thread is related to the Save/Cancel button not appearing when using the shortcut to log water from the Today tab. However, if you're having a different experience, I'd recommend starting a new thread so we can keep the forums organized.
