Unable to pair Charge 2 with iPhone 6S

Hi,

I’m having issues pairing my charge 2 with my iphone 6S.

Brief History: Previously paired with an S7 Edge but phone got broken. Havent used the Charge 2 since Feb 2018.

Now i’m trying to pair it with my iphone but it wont find it. I have read some threads and tried a number of suggested solutions like:

1. Restart tracker. Restart phone

2. Update phone OS. Uninstall reinstall fitbit app

3. Moved away from other charge 2 or old phone

Anything else i can do? Appreciate the help in advance!

Cheers,

Don

If the old phone is still around, turn off Bluetooth on that device, as well as any other devices/computers you have synced to in the past, and make sure it does not show up as “connected” in other device Bluetooth settings while you are trying to sync with your iPhone.

On your iPhone, open the app and remove the CH2 from your account and then add it back as a new device.

You mentioned that there is another CH2 in the house.  If it is linked to someone else’s account, that is fine.  If it is linked to your account you won’t be able to add a second CH2 to the account.  Although Fitbit supports multiple trackers on the same account, they must be different tracker types — so, for example, a CH2 and a Charge 2 could be linked to the same account, but not two CH2s. (Also, not relevant to your issue, but in the spirit of completeness, the new Versa and Ionic trackers are treated as the same tracker type and cannot both be on a single account).

Hi,

The old phone is totally broken so its not on. The app also does not contain any other tracker.

Hello @DonAbritz, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you as well @Baltoscott and @ACG, thanks for all your help. Smiley Happy

@DonAbritz, thanks for bringing this to my attention and for letting me know you have already tried some troubleshooting steps and @Baltoscott's recommendations. At this moment, if your Charge 2 is still having trouble pairing with your phone, please try the following:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your Charge 2
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up the Versa one more time.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.
