I see that the thread “Update 6/26/2018: In-app Notifications no longer in Notification Center” is closed for comments. I am still only receiving sporadic push notifications. I have everything set as directed. I may get a push notification about meeting step goal but then no more for a couple days.

I have not received “any” notifications since June 17th. Oh, well!

Yes they closed the other topic because someone deemed the problem fixed.

I have received two maybe three banner notifications in the last two weeks. I have reached and exceeded my daily step goals everyday. So if they think a “fix” is three successful notifications in 14 days, I sure wish my work would allow 21% success rate as a positive outcome.

While I’m not happy they still haven’t fixed a problem they caused, I am glad I’m not the only one suffering.

Hello @Zeta18@WoodyJohn and @KaleHI, I hope you're all doing well, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have brought this to my attention. Please note that based on customer feedback, the Fitbit app has stopped showing notifications in the Notification Center. You can continue to receive these notifications as push notifications by turning on Push Notifications in the app under Account > Notifications. Additionally, go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and ensure the following is enabled:

  • Allow Notifications
  • Show on Lock Screen
  • Show in History.

I hope this resolves your inquiry, in case you're still not receiving push Notifications from the Fitbit app, please go back to Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure that under Banners, the "Persistent" setting is enabled.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Thank you for posting the way to “fix” the notifications to allegedly appear for the zilloonth time.

They still don’t work.

I’d like to thank fitbit for giving me an opportunity to evaluate other health tracking devices for my next purchase.

It’s good to know you are still working on a problem that in my mind was wholly unnecessary.

I have done all that. Still receive only very sporadic notifications (like 1 or 2 a couple times a week, if that).

@WoodyJohn@Zeta18 have you tried enabling all day sync? If you are syncing regularly this may help trigger the Push Notifications.

@WoodyJohn, thanks for letting us know you have already enabled All-day Sync and you're still unable to receive push Notifications in your phone. Tell me, are you able to receive push Notifications from the Fitbit app when someone sends you a message or sends a cheer? That will be very helpful for us to check this further.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be around in case you need anything else.

@MarcoGFitbit @KateFitbit  @Motherlove I think I know why I was only getting notifications sporadically. I get notifications if I have the app open (not necessarily in the foreground, just open), and do not get any notifications if the app is closed. I do have background app refresh enabled for the fitbit app. I use many apps that send notifications even if the app is not open - only the fitbit app requires the app to be open. I’ve been experimenting for a couple of days and that definitely seems to be the case. Not sure if that is everyone else’s problem. Any idea why the fitbit app does not send notifications if it not open?

Same here. Get notifications some days and other days nothing. So disappointing. 😭 I purchased it for the motivation and celebration. Hope they hear us.

use the words ‘specific Android phones’ because this issue is noticed only on phones by manufacturers like Xiaomi, Oppo, One Plus, Vivo, Lenovo, Huawei, Samsung, and a few others.
