Unable to set up Charge 3.

Trying to set up new charge 3 and it won’t pair to Bluetooth on iPhone 8. Tried restarting and resetting everything turning both phone and Fitbit off and on. Tried everything on forums and website and still no luck nothing else connected to Bluetooth and only thing that keeps connecting is something called Antares which we have no idea what it is but have googled it and it’s a star in the sky. So I’m extremely lost, confused and very disappointed. Could someone please help?!

Hello @Stevepscott you say that the Charge 3 won't pair to the phones bluetooth, do you get any error? If so what would it be?

Are you using the add device found in the Fitbit app to setup the Charge 3?

The whole setup process must be done through the Fitbit app, there is nothing a user can do through the phones Bluetooth.

Yes I am doing that. I am getting FBBluetoothErrorDomain error 24.

Hello @Stevepscott, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you around too @Rich_Laue, thanks for all your help. Smiley Happy

@Stevepscott, I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. I would also like to thank you for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. As @Rich_Laue, mentioned, please note that your Charge 3 will only pair through the Fitbit app and not directly through the Bluetooth Settings on your phone.

With that said, I would like to suggest you the following:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your Charge 3.
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up the Charge 3one more time.

If you're able to see a "Not working" screen when trying to set up the device, please try the following:

  1. Select "Try Again"
  2. On Charge 3: open Settings > About > tap "Reboot Device"
  3. Wait for "Found your tracker" screen on phone
  4. Enter the 4-digit code and complete the pairing sequence

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

Thank you. I have tried all that multiple times but no joy. Fitbit customer services could not help either. It looks like I am going to have to be sent a replacement device.

Just wondered if this worked as I’m seeing “Antares” on my Bluetooth but getting this but with a 403 error.  I’ve been onto the support team a number of times and they said it was because I had aan old hr charge. I’ve now bought a new charge 3 but am still getting this error. I’ll try doing it without WiFi as has been suggested on another post. I’m really sad as I miss using it!

Nothing you suggest works

Not for me either--it really shouldn't be this difficult. I'm taking this back to the store and getting an Apple Watch.

has anyone fixed this? I used a charge 2 for a long time and loved it. Now the charge 3 just wont pair with phone, tablet, laptop, through app or bluetooth regardless of all the steps outlined by puppet techs. And YES I have done EVERYTHING suggested. I worked in IT for a long time. I am deeply saddened by the poor quality of this product and am taking this back to the store tomorrow. So disappointed. Never buying a fitbit again.

Hi guys! I had a lot of trouble with this, but I finally figured it out. You have to turn off all your devices and Bluetooth near you, just until you finish the set up. It finally worked once I did this. Good luck, I hope this helps. ❤️
