Update 6/26/2018: Hi Everyone, I've merged a few threads together. Thanks for your iOS notification reports.
Based on customer feedback, we stopped showing notifications in the Notification Center. You can continue to receive these notifications as push notifications by turning on Push Notifications in the app under Account > Notifications. Additionally, ensure that Notifications is selected in your iPhone settings.

June 17, 2018 is the last Notification which I received on my iPhone 7 Fitbit App. I am speaking of the Notifications which let you know when you are getting close to the daily goal, let you know you have met the daily goal, and let you know you have exceeded the daily goal. I am specifically not speaking of phone call notifications, etc.
This seemed to have begun around the time of the last update of the app.
Any thoughts?

The red dot is still showing on my notification icon at the bottom of the dashboard screen. Can I get rid of that? Also, my notifications stopped updating in March of this year and I can't delete them or make the red dot go away.

Im only receiving notifications of messages. No step message or exercise goals at all.
And I completely agree with @TrojanFan65- the notifications were an encouragement!! I really miss the overachiever and weekly exercise goals achieved and surpassed!!!!!!
It is a reason most of us wear these- to push ourselves. The positive reinforcement is very very helpful and much missed.

Hi everyone! Good to see you all in the Community Forums! 🙂
Just as a general suggestion, please be sure that if you're not getting the in-app notifications, you've gone into the Advanced settings on the Fitbit app and here, you've gone to Notifications and enabled push notifications on your phone. If even with that you're having problems, try logging out of the app and then log back in and probably restart your phone and see if that makes any difference.
Let me know if you guys are still having problems!

Already sent a pic. Everything green in advanced settings. Push notifications allowed.
Updated iOS. Updated Fitbit. On and off with and without Bluetooth. Jumped through hoops and fire rings.
Still nothing.
Why oh why take away something that WORKED?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!??!

Well, if the Fitbit folks decided that users no longer need in-app notifications, why did they leave the notifications tab in the app? I see notifications from previous versions but no new ones since that last update. And the instructions to turn on push notifications does not enable in app notifications. If the fitbit folks think they know better than their users what the users want, they are sadly mistaken. At least, make it a user selectable option. My guess is that this will become like the recent problem with wrong numbers in the weekly email progress reports - this will go on for months before anything is done. And why was there nothing in the release notes for this release!
Sorry for the duplicate post. I first posted in the android forum by mistake but I can‘t delete that post. I would not have upgraded if I knew this would happen.

So I finally turn the notifications back on after deciding the stupid banners are better than nothing. Now those don’t work either. I’ve restarted the app, phone, and the fitbit.
Good thing they did testing before pushing the “update” out.

@WoodyJohn we stopped showing notifications in the notification center based on user feedback around mid-June, this would have happened regardless of an app update. Currently, you will still see Feed Notifications and Challenge updates in the Notification center.
For the Push Notifications, if you aren't seeing them, we are aware that some users may experience delays in receiving step goal notifications or may not receive their goal notifications at all, we will continue to investigate this.
I am sorry that this has been so upsetting. We do hear that this was an important feature to some and have passed this information on to the team, however there are no plans to bring back notifications at this time.

Thank you @KateFitbit. I wouldn’t say that removal of notifications is especially upsetting. What IS upsetting is that fitbit would choose to make a change based on input from some users, when the whole point of the app (at least for some folks) is the motivation it provides, even silly notifications like “almost there!”, etc. And no notice to the users, causing many to jump through hoops deleting and reinstalling the app, etc. Apparently some of the support staff was not aware of the change. Very poor support for your customers. I hope that the powers that be make the step goal in app notifications a user option, rather than removing a feature that many users like, in order to please the ones that find the notifications annoying.
But I do appreciate the reply. Have a safe 4th!

Totally agree with you. Hope it’s reinstated soon. It motivated, encouraged and celebrated us. It’s really missed and so disappointed to think they may not hear us. 😭

@WoodyJohn We do understand that our support team should have been aware of the change in Notification availability. This has definitely been passed on to our team and I do apologize for the inconvenience.
@WoodyJohn, @Motherlove I feel there may still be confusion, the 'almost there' notifications have not been removed entirely and are still available to motivate as Push Notifications, as you can see in my post here. I made it larger. There may be delays or skipped for some users currently but we are actively working on this issue.

Agree there is confusion. But not on our part- we know where we should be receiving the notifications now- much to our chagrin- we are, however, not receiving them.
Yes YES YES!!!!!!
The whole point of the app indeed! Notifying users also great point.
Also, This is the second or third time I’ve seen the comment regarding users wanting this feature dismissed...I agree why not make it a user enabled feature then. Certainly I saw no survey regarding having this feature removed. And it is far more invasive to require your users to allow more phone access to an app ( ie push notifications ) than just let those bothered turn off an existing app feature.
Again - I believe we get that the feature we want is gone. But the replacement option is not working!! I haven’t received a notification since this entire mess started. It’s really frustrating.
Whole point of the app is to monitor our progress, right?
