Versa 2 only syncs with Iphone 11 when I actually have the Fitbit App open. it is running in the background. Cannot use Alexa unless I have the App on screen. How do I fix this? This is the second Fitbit watch I've had (2 different kinds) and ALWAYS the same problems.

Hello @SunsetRunner
I may be wrong but it sounds like your Fitbit background app refresh is disabled on your iPhone. Background App Refresh is a setting in your iPhone, not the Fitbit app. To enable it tap on your iPhone Settings > General > Background App Refresh> Enable the Fitbit setting to On.
Let me know if this helps. 😃 Happy Stepping!

Hello again @SunsetRunner
Do you have restrictions enabled on your iPhone? If so you may have restricted background app refresh.
Go to Settings —> Screen Time —> Content & Privacy Restrictions (enter screen time password) —> Background App Activities —> Allow. If everything in Content & Privacy Restrictions is grayed out that means you have no restrictions enabled.
Another idea are you using Low Power Mode? It is not compatible with Background App Refresh. Turn off low power mode and see if that resolves the issue.
😃 Let me know

Gosh @SunsetRunner I’m not really sure what’s going on then. I’m so sorry I couldn’t help. Hopefully someone here will see your question and point you in the right direction.

Just another thought @SunsetRunner
Are you set to Wi-Fi only mode? When you select Wi-Fi only Background App Refresh will only happen when you're on a Wi-Fi network. For Wi-Fi & Cellular Data the Background App Refresh happens whether you're connected to Wi-Fi or your cellular network.
Again, just another thought
