Versa 2 syncing difficulty

I have the Versa 2, all the permissions are set for it to always run in the background and sync all day however I am still having to go into the app and sync it every morning to see the sleep data and through the day to check weather and get other information.  Is there a setting that I am missing? My phone is Apple XS Max, both the phone and app are currently updated.  Thanks for help!
