Versa not syncing correctly with my phone.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently purchased the versa, I followed the online instructions on my iphone 6s to pair my versa with my phone. Whenever I check the fitbit app to sync my fitbit, the versa cannot be found. When I check the bluetooth connections the versa status moves from Connected to Not Connected. It seems to do this when the versa is trying to sync. The status of the versa is Looking.. Connected .. Syncing.. Looking.. Connected.. Looking..

Any ideas? I've tried restarting the fitbit and the iphone. Even have tried reinstalling the versa again on the app and now have deleted the app and reinstalled it, to the same issue.

I haven't had issues with my previous fitbits that have used the same phone.

Hello @Chetcuti154@dowsa and @KellieGarciaS, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this situation preventing your Versa to sync to my attention. Have you restarted your phone and your Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen yet? If so, I would like to suggest you to check the following:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.
  • Make sure your Versa is fully updated.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Thank you!  Turning my Iphone off and then back on solved the syncing on my Fitbit Versa!  I was about ready to take it back to the store for the Charge 2 which I have never had any problems with!

I am having the same issue with my Versa and iPhone X. Thanks for the information. I have done all of these suggestions and I am still having problems trying to sync. I don’t sync all day as it runs my battery down.

Hello @MMJ67 and @Jlveit1, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, thanks for joining the conversation. Smiley Happy

@MMJ67, I appreciate you have shared your experience with us and for letting me know that restarting your phone helped the Versa sync. I'm very glad.

@Jlveit1, thanks for letting me know you have already tried the troubleshooting steps I've provided earlier. At this moment I would like to ask you to try the following:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Force-quit the Fitbit app.
  3. Open the app and tap on Account > Versa, then enable All-day Sync. This will establish a Bluetooth connection with your phone. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue. Please note that our development team has already confirmed that All-day Sync won't drain the battery on your Versa or your phone faster than usual so it's safe to enable it.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted!

I followed your recommended steps. Still stuck here:  "When I check the bluetooth connections the versa status moves from Connected to Not Connected. It seems to do this when the versa is trying to sync. The status of the versa is Looking.. Connected .. Syncing.. Looking.. Connected.. Looking.."

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. At this moment, even if you're able to see the the Versa connected or Not connected, please tap on it and remove it from the list of paired devices and continue with the steps provided in my previous post t enable All-day Sync. You will receive a pop-up asking you to "pair" your watch to your phone, tap on "pair" and continue.

I hope this helps, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Hello @ConSha, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board! Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for letting me know you've already tried the troubleshooting steps listed on this thread. At this moment, as your device is still not syncing, my best recommendation would be setting it up as a new device to reset the connection between the device and your phone. Don't worry, none of the information already synced to your account will be deleted. Additionally, Fitbit devices can store up to 7 days of detailed information.

To set up your device again:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Hello,

I just got a Versa today and had a huge trouble trying to register this device to my Fitbit app. Nothing worked until I did a factory reset again and then finally got to register this device.

However, after that, I wouldn't sync again. It would go from Looking-Connected-Sync (and it would sync from 5-15% and then stop and then do this looking-connecting sequence all over again.)

Following your above recommendation, I have de-registered my Versa and tried to re-register. Now it is not registering like the first time. (I get four digit numbers, but after I plug it in to my app it doesn't move past "connecting to Fitbit." I would be super upset if i have to do another factory reset. The first reset didn't do me any harm because I haven't logged anything but now i have a full day of workout logged and I have to lose it.

Could you please help me? I have tried restarting my phone, versa (3 times in a row too), bluetooth, forget the device(now it doesn't even show up on my bluetooth list) and even tried to connect this to my Windows 10 PC using the USB dongle. Nothing is working. Since this Versa is not working with neither my iPhone 6S nor my PC, I am starting to wonder this is a device issue.

I was having the same issue and none of the suggested solutions worked for me.  What finally did work was rebooting the Versa itself (hold the left button and lower right button until the Fitbit logo appears on the screen).   After the reboot all was well!

I am in the same situation.  I can sync with my iPad, but my Samsung S8 will not sync with my versa or provide notifications.  Had no trouble with my Charge 2.
