Help!  My versa won’t sync with iPhone (maybe iOS update?) but won’t give me notifications or sync data...

Best Answer

Hello @Avullo and @AnzoP, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, since when have you experienced this issue? Have you restarted your Versa pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen and your phone already? If so, I would like to suggest you to check the following:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

@Avullo, if after your Versa syncs, you're still unable to receive Notifications, please check the instructions on this post and let me know the outcome.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

That is the only response you are going to get from fitbit. There have been thousands of us who have had the same issues with the versa not syncing since it came out in April. My advice- return it soon.

Hello @Bwest776, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @Cnynurse Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences this issue has caused you and would like to thank you for letting us know you've already tried the troubleshooting steps listed above. If you're still having trouble syncing your Versa, my best recommendation would be setting up your Versa as a new device to reset the connection between the watch and your phone. Don't worry, none of the information already stored in your account will be deleted.

To set up your Versa as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I have to do that whole process almost every time i want to sync my
Versa!!!! I spend about 30 mins of this nonsense every time. It now also
takes about 20 mins to actually sync. If it didnt cost me almost $300 dollars
i would toss the piece of junk! Fitbit really needs to warn that there are
major compatibility issues before you buy it. I am beyond disappointed and
frustrated at this point!

Yup. I feel your pain. I was training for a half marathon and the **ahem** thing never worked. I already tossed mine and went back to a garmin and have no issues at all. Return it if you can. Good luck.

So i previously had a charge 2, then thought id upgrade to the new versa. I have had several of the same issues that everyone else seems to be having... I really like to keep track of my sleep and from the day i got it it syncs everything but my sleep.... on the app it says it has not done a sync for the past 4 days which is when i bought it. Ive restarted everything, set it up as a new device several times, unpaired and paired again. Still will not sync my sleep patterns. i can get new apps on it no problem but it will not show that it performed a sync. Anything else i can do? Would suck to have to return it and go back to my charge...

A lot of us have gone through the same thing. My advise is to return it and go garmin. Look at the vivo series. They are great trackers for around the same price. And have no syncing issues. Good luck.

I would say maybe the same thing as me ....a comparability issue with your
phone, but if your old Fitbit worked then that seems less likely. You've
reset the Versa itself as well?

Yep, I have the same feeling, that Fitbit products are not "fully friends" in Apple ecosystem. I was aware very late,... but if this doesn't change in the near future; next device will be a Xiaomi Band 3 or an Apple Watch (depending of especific needs and budget).

Pretty dissapointing of discovering this lack of closely business collaboration between two big companies as Fitbit and Apple with different target markets, although they could coexist,... if they will wish Smiley Frustrated

Cheers!

Hi @MarcoGFitbit thanks also to you by taking the time to reply and your kindness.

I know is not your fault, simply a business decision, these things happen, and everything (specially in businesses fields) can change from one day to nextone; although (after my deeper research) this happened since 2014; so I have my doubts that Fitbit Corporate wise would change on mind at this point in time, or even in the near close future Smiley Embarassed

Anyhow, I'll try to enjoy as much as possible of my nifty tracker as much as I can, let's keep a positive mood Smiley Very Happy (Specially for the things out of our range of direct influence power decision Smiley Wink) Cheers! Heart

I heard that if even Fibtit has no plans for the moment to allow native sync of Health data towards APple Healthkit, the iOS SW development team is working on implementing the thirty app Chat Messages notifications (i.e. Whatsapp, Signal, Telegram...) on the iOS Fitbit app, as it is already supported on the Android OS fitbit app (I still have some hope to get that feature available soon in my tracker Smiley Happy)

Thank you in advance!!! Heart

I would strongly recommend not having the app installed on more than one device. In addition keep the fitbit versa close to your phone and don't disconnect the Bluetooth signal. It works great when it works, I have a Fossil Watch on Android. It works well, but once a month or so I have to reinstall it. The fitbit versa can be the best smart watch on the market if fitbit can fine tune their app and connection.
