I have Fitbit Versa and IOS 11.4.1 and my connection drops without warning every few days and it wont sync or display notifications. I've checked for IOS updates and App updates and nothing...any help on this? Thanks!

Same here. When I open fitbit app it stays on "looking…" and can't sync. Ever… I don't know what to do.

The only thing you can do is, first make sure your app and IOS is up to date and then restart your watch by forcing power off (hold left button and bottom right button simultaneously) and wait for reset, if doesn't turn back on hit the left button. After the reboot it seems to sync again. Its very frustrating, i have to do this every few days.

UPDATE:

Just an FYI, I talked to support again today, and they had me turn off all notifications in the app, then sync. Then i turned them all back on, and did another sync. Supposedly that will help. We'll see.

Hello @JasonPin and @AdrianaLima, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have brought this to my attention. @JasonPin, thanks for letting me know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far and for letting me know you have already contacted our Support Team.

If you're still having trouble with your Versa not syncing to the Fitbit app, I would like to suggest you the following:

  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

Now, when it comes to Notifications on your Versa, as you have already restarted your Versa, make sure it's not currently in the Do Not Disturb (DND) mode by pressing down the button on the side for 2 seconds, in here check that Notification have been set to ON. If everything seems to working fine, I would like to suggest you to reset Notifications from the Fitbit app following these steps:

- Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and tap on tracker. Then tap on Forget this Device.

- Force-close the Fitbit app by double tapping the home button on your phone and swiping up the app.

- Open the app again and tap on Account > Your Tracker > Notifications. You will receive the following Pop-up:

undefined

- Then, once you tap on Set Up, the app will begin setting up your tracker with the Bluetooth on your phone, which will prompt the next pop-up:

undefined

- Tap Pair

- Once you get back to the tracker options, tap on Notifications an enable the ones you'd like to receive.

Additionally, please go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and Settings > Notifications > Messages and check that the following is enabled:

  • Allow Notifications
  • Show on Lock Screen
  • Show in History

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
