The voice cues suddenly stopped working. I have tried restarting and reinstalling, but nothing seems to work

I'm running the Fitbit application on an iPhone. Voice cues suddenly stopped working. Normally when I press the volume keys the ringer volume changes. I selected preview voice cues and then hit the volume button to increase the volume. Instead of ringer volume now I was adjusting the speaker volume. Problem solved.

Hi @Bruceinbouse and welcome to the Community.

I would recommend double checking your exercise settings to make sure that voice cues is configured correctly. You can do this by:

1. Opening the Fitbit App and clicking the Account button in the bottom-right hand corner.

2. Click "Exercise Tracking" under settings.

3. Make sure that "Play During Exercise" is toggled on and that the voice cues are configured to your preferred settings.

Hope this helps you out!

Thank you this reply and suggestion, but I had already done all of those things. The voice cues had been working fine and then then it just stopped one day.

I have the same issue.

@robguitar @Bruceinbouse Very strange. Does logging out of the App and then logging back in help?

Also, what type of iOS device are you using and what iOS version is it running (ie iOS 9.3, iOS 8, etc)?

Lastly, can you remember the day when you first noticed that the voice cues stopped working?

Keep me posted!

Thanks for your follow-up robguitar. I have logged in and out, reinstalled
the app, restarted the phone, and anything else I could think of. It is
running on an iPhone with iOS 9.3.1. I think the last day it worked was
around April 1, but that is purely a guess.

Hi. I am using a Samsung A3 and my voice cues stopped 2 days ago after my phone did an android update. Settings seem fine. I gave not uninstall the app yet, but wanted to know if there is anything else I should try first. I don't seem to have the 'preview vice cues' option mentioned above.
Thanks

So if you open the FitBit app and goto Account/Settings/Excersise Tracking; is the 'Play During Excersise' choice selected? Volume level?

I do not have the option that you describe.

I have account / settings and then I get a choice of:
Goals, location, advanced....none of these sections contains the exercise tracking option that you mention.

If I go directly into the Exercise tracking module, the settings cog just shows me a list of auto recognised activities. The 'stopwatch' gives me the option to activate voice cues, which is 'on' but there is no 'play during exercise' option.

Looks like an application/Android issue. I would recoomend taking the issue to support.
