So today I walked 15 miles for a virtual racing event I am in. Once I got my 15 I paused the recording and took the subway back home. When I got home I went to finish submitting it and found it was gone. Please note I’m using the app on its own with my phone to track activity, as my Fitbit recently quit working. Now the app just shows me the main screen with no recorded activity today. I also cannot go in to log more activity. At a loss at what to do to continue using the app.

While it's not possible to recover the exercise performed before, I'd like to try some troubleshooting steps with you to prevent this from happening again:
About your other question, do you receive an error message when logging your activity in the Fitbit app? Once you've completed the steps suggested above, please follow the instructions from this help article to try logging your exercise one more time.
