Wearing Fitbit and Apple Watch simultaneously will duplicate activity?

Hi everyone. I love my Fitbit Charge 2. The battery life is excellent and it tracks my daily walk and nightly sleep really well. But I must wear an Apple Watch also for work - there is no substituting that, unfortunately.

I also have a Withings wifi scale, FWIW.

My question is, by wearing both devices - the Apple Watch and the Fitbit, am I duplicating the activity tracking somehow? Or do the two apps not communicate or share data anyway so it doesn't matter - as in, Fitbit will keep its own database of my activities and Apple Fitness a separate database?

I understand the data might not match but perhaps that's not such a big deal... since this sort of devices really isn't meant to be accurate.. it's the trend that matters.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Jinster.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern about your data being accurate since you're wearing Fitbit and Apple watch simultaneously. Thanks for the details shared, I am glad to help. Regarding your concern, your activity is not being duplicated as Fitbit and the Apple Health app are not communicating directly. While integration with Apple Health app isn't currently planned at this moment, we have left voting for this feature open so we can keep tracking this request over time.
