Weekly exercise not updating

ANSWERED

For months I've had my weekly exercise set to 7 days, with this data being captured and recorded accurately.  Suddenly the last couple of weeks it only captures 3 days out of the 7, despite the fact it is stil set to record 7 days.  I've reset, powered off, restarted my Fitibt & app numerous times with no success.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hello @J-flex, it's nice to see you around!

This is a very odd situation and I would like to suggest setting up your tracker as a new device to reset the connection between the tracker and your phone.

To set up your tracker as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forger this Device.
  2. Restart your phone.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account tab at the bottom of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device".
  4. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue.

Give it a try and in case this doesn't do the trick, my best recommendation would be contacting our Support Team. Let them know the steps you've performed so far, I'm sure they will be happy to assist you further.

Let me know the outcome! Smiley Wink

I'm reluctant to contact support as I have an ongoing issue with them not being able to fix a problem when I competed in the Vernal challenge.  Interesting that this shows solution accepted when I didn't accept it as solved.

Hi, I had the same issue with my app showing daily execercise totals, but not updating the dashboard summary for weekly excercise. It stopped updating on Sunday 1/29/17 and shows only one day excercised this week but should show three days.

I followed all the instructions in the solution below, and have reset my HR Charge, and it didn't solve the issue.

Please advise.

Hello @Marlynda, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you around too @J-flex and @DaggiS; I hope you're doing well.

Thanks for bringing this situation to my attention and for trying the troubleshooting provided. Our team is aware of the problem related to the Exercises not updating correctly in the Fitbit app and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, please check if the Exercises are updating correctly on your online Dashboard. If they are, let's try to force-close the Fitbit app by double-tapping the home button and swiping up the app in order to refresh the information displayed on it. If this doesn't do the trick, please log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this situation has caused. I appreciate your patience and understanding. If there's anything else I can do for you, please keep me posted! Smiley Wink

Is this issue fixed yet?  My fitbit has suddenly stopped recording my exercise. It doesn't show on the dashboard exercise tile anymore. I've logged out, in, etc.  The exercise shows up everywhere else on the app. but not under the exercise screen.

I fixed my problem by removing my Fitbit from inside the Fitbit app, then restarted my phone, and then added my Fitbit device back to the app. After I did this, it started recording everything again. I have an iPhone. Is your phone an iPhone or android/Samsung? The steps are slightly different depending on phone type.

Oops ignore what I just told you- that didn't work. What actually worked was simply rebooting my Charge Hr. To reboot you simply plug it in as if you're going to charge it up and then you hold the button on the side for 10-12 seconds until you see the Fitbit icon and some version numbers like V122 come up. This is how I fixed mine. It was so simple!

I am having the same issue and have tried just about anything.

My Alta HR doesn't have a button in order to reset it.

I have had my Fitbit since August 2018, and it was recording and updating well until yesterday. Although the information is available and accurate on the step tracker, heart rate and min of exercise, the weekly exercise isn't updating.

Any updates on the status of resolving this bug?

Now, when it comes to the weekly exercise, would it be possible for you to reply to us with a screenshot of this? It will be very helpful for us to check this further and determine what we should do next.

I have an Alta HR with a similar issue. It's recorded 2 days of weekly exercise this week, Monday 10th and Thursday 13th. I reached every exercise goal on Friday 14th, with 68 active minutes and over 12000 steps, and it hasn't appeared in weekly exercise. Nor has Tues or Weds. I've had a really active week compared to the last couple, and I don't understand why "Weekly Exercise" thinks I've been sat on the sofa for most of the week. It used to work better than this, there's definitely something wrong.

This is mostly brisk walking/jogging. I get why it doesn't record my gym workout, but if it can count my steps and heart rate why doesn't it know I exercised?

Hello @ClaireH27, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, thanks for joining the conversation. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. At this moment, I would like to suggest you to go to the Activities Section of the online Dashboard and check if your exercises are showing here as it's possible the app is not updating the information correctly. If the exercises are showing here, please try the following in the app:

  • Force-quit the app, then open it again.
  • Log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.

  • This is a software problem. Some weeks my weekly exercise syncs and some weeks is doesn’t. No sense that I can see. I get tired of deleting, reinstalling etc.

I will attach two screen shots showing the difference between Monday’s activity level and that I got no “credit” on the weekly exercise part of the dashboard393E928E-A8C2-4C0D-904F-3B10A4123059.png
