Weight loss badges

Once I met my initial weight loss goal I was prompted to set a new one which I did. I now have reached to 30lb lost milestone but was not rewarded with a badge. This is very frustrating that the app tracks lbs lost since setting my new goal and not total lbs lost since I started!!!

Hi @mmmiranto I agree that the way weight loss badges are awarded can be a mess when you have both interim and long terms goals.  Had you not reset your weight goal when asked, then every time your weight bounced back over your initial loss, and then went below it again, you would wind with another badge for meeting your goal, and every time you bounce around one of the designated badges, you also receive another copy of that badge.  I have 'lost' 45 lbs 250 times since the first 'real' time in 2017, and I have the badges to 'prove' it 😉  In fact, I've basically been at maintenance for the past two years and (until I changed my weight goal) I just keep getting the 45 lbs badge every I slipped below 45 lbs weight loss after having slipped above that marker even by 1 lb (To illustrate how crazy it can get, I've 'lost' 5 lbs 928 times over the 8 years I've had a fitbit!).

However, since the way Fitbit issues weight loss badges is just math, you can get credit for your 30 lb badge.  Just do the following:  Without changing your current goal, simply manually log your original starting weight for today's weight on this page. (Or in the app).  Tomorrow, weigh-in again and log your real current weight (or wait for it to sync if you have a linked scale like an Aria).  Once the new weight syncs or is logged, Fitbit will calculate the difference between the new weigh-in and the weight you just logged today (i.e., your original starting weight) and will award a copy of all relevant badges between the two.  After you've done this, assuming you have not hit your new goal, just leave things be and you will be ready to go for the 35 lb badge.

Hope this tip helps your motivation.  Congratulations on losing 30 lbs!!

(Note: I have edited this response because while testing I found that if I manually enter a weight more than once on the same day, Fitbit replaces the old weight with the new one.  So, I think that after manually logging your original starting weight today, you have to wait until tomorrow to log or sync the real current weight such that fitbit will calculate badges).
