What happened to the maps

Since the 4.04 update I can no longer see the map of my walking route.  Is the app broken? Is there a fix for this? Also, what does it mean for me to move Amy account to Google? What does that change?

Hi @BarnDee - others are reporting issues with maps in the new Fitbit App which isn't stable.

See posts in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in this forum where you will see more fully the issues.

Not everything may work the same if you change account, and it could complicate things if you do while you have issues.

@BarnDee @Guy_  I had the same experience and found that the GPS on my device had been switched off. I don’t know when or how that happened but figured it’d probably been disconnected on one of the many reboot/factory resets I’ve had to do recently. Just mentioning it in case the same may have happened to you. Since I re enabled GPS on my device I do get maps when I select and track an exercise using my device.

Thanks for the tip but before my last walk I literally saw my Fitbit say connected to GPS so I know it was connected. It’s the app. This is so bad I have canceled my plan to upgrade my tracker. Now I’m thinking about changing to the Apple Watch.

Lots of issues with the maps. The track itself looks awful - that is, when it loads. Sometimes it loads in 10 - 15 sec, sometimes 30+ seconds. I had one I tapped on from a week ago that took over a minute before I tapped "Back" and then tapped it in the list again.

I changed my account to Google back when I still had my Charge 5. I don't recall much changing except for logging in, my picture showing up in the top right of the app, and the look and feel of getting to the app settings.
