There is a new update of the iOS Fitbit app 3.88 in the Apple Store of 8 august 2023. What is changed?
I am very suspicious of updates Fitbit due to the major problems with the update of the Sence 2 firmware. Also the lack of the snore and noise feature in the Sence 2.

Hi @SunsetRunner - Fitbit don't generally provide information about any updates and unless there is something known that you need and your device is working normally it is generally better not to upset the apple cart. Updates generally bring more issues than they solve and often require debugging as they are not reversible.

Hi, @SunsetRunner app updates are not the same as the tracker/ watch firmware updates. App updates will not affect your tracker performance, so there should be no real worries about updating the app. This one states only that it contains “bug fixes” and “performance improvements”. I have downloaded the new app and am not seeing any significant differences.
Sometimes Fitbit makes significant changes to the app and some users find this a little confusing until they get used to new look and navigation. This does not seem so far to be one of those instances.
App updates also can be reverseable - at least for some time after an update you can usually find an earlier version and you can revert. Basically I would not worry unduly about updating your app.

I’m a blind user using Apple’s voiceover screen reading software. Two days ago I updated to 3.88. The edit button which was removed in September 2021 continues to be unavailable and the pull to refresh feature does not work for people using voiceover screen, reading software. Distance when displayed as miles and 1/10 format still continues to be red as month and day if mileage is less than 10. I.e. 8.four would read as August 4. Accessibility issues with the sleep screens continues to be a problem for people who are blind and reading disabled. I was the information for , dispense steps, floors, and calories still is not available along with other hourly issues and other metrics. I have been contacted by Fitbit very recently paren feedback that might be helpful to the developers. I have provided feedback for a number of years and have not seen any difference screens continue to freeze and fields continue to disappear And then reappear randomly. Swiping through screens now I am finding that as I swipe it bounces back to distance and then I swipe through all the fields and then it bounces back to distance and sometimes they have to swipe on the tile two or three times before it moves. I continue to go into profile, and Select the tracker. I am using and then manually sync multiple times in order to get the data to refresh in a timely manner. These are all known issues, and that I have reported them in the past within the forum. Maybe the update that is promised in the near future will fix these issues , I can only hope that something will be done to make the Fitbit iOS application, friendly for those with disabilities, including the blind and reading disabled.

Update 3.89 of the FitBit app can be downloaded on 21 Aug 2023. A new update almost every 2 weeks. In the meantime, so many problems have been reported by users about the app and smartwatches that I, as a user, would like to see which problems FitBit has solved with each update. And you?
