What is this time on the sleep chart?

Hi,

Could you please, tell me what these times mean on the sleep graph?

I circled an example in screenshot above. I slept 9hrs and 22 minutes on the highlighted day so, I don’t understand what the 1h16m is. 🤔

Hello @Françoise

I believe that’s your total estimated REM sleep for that day. (If you touch another bar you can see your estimated REM on another night) REM makes up about 20 to 25 percent of your nightly sleep and mostly takes place in the second half of the night.

Hi MB,

Thanks for the reply although, I don’t think that’s the answer because that figure doesn’t match what it says below where it shows “time spent in each stage of sleep”.

The graph shows 1hr16min but according to “time spent in each stage of sleep”, I got 2hrs17min of REM (From two sleeps that day —1:19 + 0:58).

Thank you, anyway ☺️

That's hilarious!

A) 76 is your sleep score on that day.

B) 76 = 60 + 16.

C) There are 60 minutes in 1 hour.

D) Therefore, your sleep score is "1Hr 16min".

Check it out - your other detail popups will follow the same pattern.

Clearly another BIG WIN for the developers and their extensive QA.

I HATE THIS NEW GARBAGE UPDATE!

Chas, you’re right! All the other figures match:

1hr5m

1hr1m

58m

1hr11m

1hr19m

I still don’t understand, though. A score of 76 means 1hr16m but, 1hr16m of what?

Thanks Chas for figuring out part of this mystery 🕵️‍

Hi Francoise -

You're quite welcome! But there's nothing to understand here - it's BROKEN. The old app (before the "Sleep Score") used that code to display daily sleep time anoumts, and then they just lazily / incompetently used exactly the same code for completely different data

It's not unusual for the occasional bug to slip through, but it's absolutely astounding the level of garbage programming that a multi-million dollar company is letting get through here.

I ask everyone to wonder - what about other aspects of their operation? Are they selling your personal data? Or worse, because of the level of incompetence we are seeing here, just letting hackers access their databases because they're unable to perform basic security?

Really kind of irking me, these guys.

Could a moderator please, explain so, I could better understand what this figure actually is. Is it just a glitch or does this time mean something?

Thank you ☺️
