GPS Inaccurate after Fitbit app update - NOT SOLVED

Ever since the last update, GPS readings for my runs have been wildly inaccurate. So now, Fitbit no longer provides avg. HR graph data, but also, I can’t rely on GPS data? How am I supposed  to properly train for my upcoming race (in two weeks) without accurate feedback? This is unacceptable.

What makes this worse is that Fitbit told me that these readings are perfectly normal, according to their GPS prodigals. Really? It’s normal for me to increase my running time by 4-5 minutes a mile... in one day?!

So I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem AND IF SO, do you think it’s normal?

Customer Service:  Do you still stand by your comment about my GPS problem, or, after seeing my data in picture form, can you now offer a different perspective, which hopefully includes a solution?

<<<CS: “Fitbit trackers calculate distance by multiplying your walking steps and walking stride length. Similarly, your running steps are multiplied by your running stride length. This will not necessarily match a pre-measured distance, nor will it show exactly what a GPS device will show. We also have more information on calculating your stride length on our site at http://www.fitbit.com/manual#edit-profile.”>>>

You can’t fix a problem if you refuse to admit there IS a problem.

They did not offer assistance, they just said that it’s normal for Fitbit’s GPS to be off as much as 6 miles/5 minutes a mile. So, I’m asking for clarification that yes indeed, Fitbit’s GPS is unreliable up to at least 6 miles. Do you stand by your facts? Personally, I feel having a GPS reading off by 6 miles is totally unacceptable. How can a runner rely on Fitbit if this is a normal reading?

>>>If you’re planning on purchasing a Fitbit, ask me why I regret it. “If it ‘ain’t broken’, don’t fix it”. If it IS broken, FIX IT! >>>
