I cannot find friends or add new friends after update
known username shows User not known ?
I want to add add new friends - please help !

Hi @AshwinC which phone do you have and which platform? Android, iOS or Windows. A friend of mine discovered yesterday that her phone is no longer compatible and her Android system is too old to get all the features she once had. Could be something similar happened to you. She went to her computer and was able to find her friends on her contact list, so they weren't lost, but merely not visible on her phone.

I am using Iphone 8 and can see a the friends lists. Just cannot add new friends using the new community tool - going into friends then add friends - putting in username and it says no such username.
This started after last software update - cannot find friends either
I am using FitBit Charge 2 - Very frustrating - may go to Apple Watch

@Hello @AshwinC , a warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your information and for letting us know about the situation adding friends. Our team is looking into this right now. In the meantime, I would recommend you to add your friend with the Email option or to add them over the Online Dashboard (fitbit.com) if you rather do it with the user name.
I'll update you if I receive more information regarding the situation.

While I have not had any replies to my own "friends missing issue" reported yesterday, I can advise from my experience respecting trying to re-add them to the iPhone using the e-mail option.
I have tried using the e-mail selector so and the names are just sitting there with the clock icon on the right side. Of course, the friends are in the system already, visible on the Mac as noted. (Checking with friends also tells me that (a) they see me in their list and (b) they have not received any new friend request that might have resulted from my using the e-mail friends selector.
The API is apparently now broken and I guess the FitBit team is investigating how that happened. I hope restoration will not orphan those (few?) of us content not to chase the newest model phones....

Spoken to FitBit support on telephone - went through all options and even then would not work
I checked usernames I know are correct and still comes up user name not found
I searched with names ALREADY on my friends list and the response is the same - NO SUCH USERNAME?
Left it with FitBit to investigate
