When I enter yoga as an activity on the app, it shows 0 calories, which I can understand as the movement is minimal, so I probably don't burn many more than the base calories for that period of time, and I assumed that's what the 0 meant.
BUT, when I add the activity, FitBit deletes the base calories for that time--that is, the total calories for the day goes down, actually changing the calories for that period of time to 0. So if I do an hour of yoga, I have an hour in which I burned no calories whatsoever. That is, ZERO, nada, nothing. Even when sleeping I burn more calories than that! What do you folks have against yoga that it doesn't get even the base calories?
Edit: When I add Pilates as an activity, it adds calories. Why is yoga treated differently?

Hi, @SunsetRunner! That definitely sounds wrong. Are you sure you're using the official "Yoga" activity and not creating a new one? When I find Yoga from the dropdown menu, it gives me an estimated calories. If you're creating a new activity that doesn't come with an estimated calorie burn from Fitbit, that's when you'll generally start out with zero calories until you enter your own estimate. And, as you figured out, the calorie burn is the total for the period, including your BMR, so it should be higher than zero, which would mean you were dead!

Hello @MakMak, Yes, I am choosing Yoga from the search menu in the iOS app. This is what I get:
Then when I Add it, the calories designated for that hour as base calories disappear from my dashboard. That is, the calorie count for the day goes down.
Since I have entered Yoga in the past as a custom activity on my computer dashboard, would that custom activity have propagated to my phone app instead of the default Fitbit one? Just now, I have gone back to a new search, and when I type in Yoga I get three separate entries, all identically labeled "yoga" I see that two of them show 0 calories, but the third shows 221 calories. But there is no way to tell them apart and to know that I am getting an ersatz yoga instead of "official" yoga. Especially since I have never created an activity in the app on my phone, only on the dashboard where the only default activities are run, walk, swim, and bike. Very frustrating!
