Hi
This has been puzzling me for as long as I've had my Fitbit. Why, when my weight is entered, does the app sometimes then alter it by half to one pound? It does it if I record my weight manually, or via the Aria scales which I've recently purchased (so it's not just an Aria issue).
For example, this morning on my Aria scales I weighed 10st 9.1lbs, but when I look at my app on my phone it shows my weigh in at that time as 10st 8.9lbs. That is not what I weighed on my scales!
When I used to enter my weight manually, it would show the correct weight under the list of weigh ins, but on the front screen of my app under the tiles my weight would be different by half to one pound.
Now, sometimes when I've weighed myself on my Aria scales, it will show the correct weight under my list of weigh ins, then there will be another entry with 'manual' against it, and it is half to one pound different. I never enter manual weights since I've had my Aria so I don't know where this comes from.
Is the app calculating an average weight when you weigh yourself regularly?
I have searched for this but can't find this exact question.
Please note my iPhone app is always up to date.
Thank you in advance.

Hi @CaroleH88. Welcome to the forums! I'm sorry for the delayed response.
Thanks for sharing detailed information about the issues experienced when logging your data, as well for confirming that the Fitbit app is updated. This is unusual and just to confirm, is your information also shown incorrectly in your fitbit.com dashboard?
In the meantime, I'd recommend to try the following steps:
If the issue persists, please take a screenshot of the information you're logging vs the information that is displayed afterwards, and attack it in your reply. These details will help me to further investigate.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi Lizzy
Many thanks for your reply.
Yes, when this happens the incorrect weight also shows on the dashboard, as well as in the list of weights.
I've done what you suggested and will see if this happens again. Strangely it doesn't do it all the time.
Thanks for your help.

Hi @CaroleH88. I hope you're having a good day!
You're welcome and thanks for trying the steps suggested in my previous post. Although it doesn't happen all the time, it's odd that you're having this experience with the Fitbit app. For that reason, please keep logging your weight with your Aria scale or manually entering your details in the Fitbit app, and keep me posted.
I'll be around.

Hi Carole
This has happened to me today & I've no idea why or how to put it right.
Did you get yours resolved?

Hi Colleen, no this is still the same but to be honest I've got used to it and know when it's going to round my weight down. For example, if it shows on my scales that I weigh 10st 8.1lbs, I know that it's going to round down to 10st 7.9lbs when I look at the weight on my app. It always does it so I've come to the conclusion that this is simply something to do with rounding. It always rounds down, never up, so I'm certainly not complaining!
No one has been able to tell me why it does this, but it's too trivial for me to worry about further.

Mine has started doing this, too. I logged my weight yesterday, and today it claims that I have lost 0.1 lbs.. but I didn't log my weight today. If it is assuming weight loss, I'd like to know how to turn it off, as I am not logging food currently.

Hi
Has anyone resolved this? Mine is doing exactly the same, manually entered my weight and it's now 0.1lb down from the entered weight!
Thanks
Emma

Hi there, mine is the same although on my fitbit it states my current weight then at the side its shows 3lb less but on the app it shows more then my current weight.
I don't understand it all. I'm new to fitbit and still trying to figure it all out.

Hi Lizzy -
This is clearly still an UNRESOLVED issue with the App and Dashboard. This just started for me randomly a few days ago when I finally crossed the threshold for going below my initial weight (i.e. I had gained and am now losing again). I enter weights manually (I do not own any connected scale and have no intention of purchasing) and both the App and the dashboard CHANGE the weight entry that I have entered. The system should NEVER alter my data that I enter. This is not just a lost weight calculation error.
Additionally, I'm American so only use pounds, never stones or alternate units, so that is not causing the error in this case.
Please move this break-fix issue forward immediately. The main purpose of Fitbit is to track my weight - so this expensive purchase needs to accomplish this minimum level of promised functionality. This is NOT just an 'annoyance' that customers can live with.
Thanks.

The dashboard always shows my weight .1 above the actual weight. When I click on weight on my dashboard, I can see that the weight logged (via Aria) is correct. For example, today my dashboard shows 117.6. I click on it, and can see that today's weight is 117.5. I have been putting up with this for a long time, but it is annoying. Aria updates my Lose It app, and that one shows the correct weight. The problem is only on the Fitbit dashboard.

Just weighing (lol) in here, I believe that my fitbit is automatically adjusting my weight based on food logged and activities. Only had it for a few days, so will keep an eye on it. **ahem** shame no one from head office can resolve this issue.

Yes, this is happening to me too. And, after it makes all the changes, it syncs with another app and changes it too. Sure, I’d love to weigh less, but not that way.
I lost .6 since last weigh in. I manually add my weight. The app does some weird average with the two numbers, then tells the weight loss section that I lost .1 lbs. then, it syncs with my other app and tells it I lost .1 from the weight entered for the day. So now it goes down extra in both overall. But when I click on the actual weight in Fitbit app, it’s correct (even with it wrong everywhere else).
Yes, I am entering it in two places for a reason. It’s temporary. But interesting. Still, I want it to stop. Lol
I am using an iPhone with latest updates and my Fitbit app has latest update.

Yep january 2023 and still happening. I’m just going to delete the weight part of the app. Now I won’t buy the smart scale either. Oddly enough, this stresses me out. I’m pretty calm about most things, but this is an irksome issue that should be easily resolved. People focusing on weight need accuracy, it’s part of the motivation. Oh well.
