Why doesn't the Barcode Scanner work in UK? + SPO2 inquiry

Using the barcode feature when adding foods to the log on the iphone app is useless, in that it doesn't recognise 95% of the foods I scan.. these are mostly very well-known brands and common foods. Moreover, foods that one has to painstakingly add (all of the food mertics) randomly disappear appear off the Recent tab - some stay many do not! It's enough to make anyone not want to bother!

Oh.. and while we're at it.. notifications don't work anymore and why are we still for the SPO2 to start working? Apple watch is looking ever more attractive!

Hello @RealSting, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your feedback and your insight about this situation. At this moment there are not plans to add a dedicated UK barcode database for Food recognitionYou can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released here in our FAQs

Our team has left the feature suggestion open for votes (and closed to comments) so our team can continue to track community demand over time. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us and we will let you know if anything changes.

Now, in regards of the SpO2 sensor, In the future, this sensor could give consumers the opportunity to identify potential health issues like sleep apnea. We are still exploring how this could manifest in the consumer experience, but such technology would use this sensor but currently don't have a specific timeframe for when these feature will be released.

I'm sorry for the inconveniences this situation has caused you, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply, I'll be happy to help.

can't you just strike a deal with underarmour for the data bases in myfitnesspal - this is by far the best nutrition app with the most comprehensive list.  and it has a UK specific list which is excellent.
