Won't update help

I just bought this Fitbit flex An went through the steps till it says update needed to continue so I can use it 

I know nothing about these An really need some help I don't want to have to sell it 

oh and I have a iPhone 7 plus

In order to update your Flex, please:

 

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account tab.
  2. Tap the pink Update Tracker button. 
  3. Make sure your tracker is plugged in and charging.
  4. Follow the prompts onscreen and keep the tracker close to the mobile device during the update.

In case the tracker does not finish the update, we will try by setting up your Flex as a new device, this will force the update to continue. Don't worry, this won't remove any of your previous information already stored in the account. To perform this process:

 

  1. Go to your phone settings, tap on Bluetooth and check if your Flex is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account tab at the bottom of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  4. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  5. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
