Wrong food when scanning barcode

When I scan things in using the iOS app it will sometimes come up with the wrong product.  This seems to be mainly (only) with supermarket own brand products so I suspect it may be something to do with them using the same barcodes with different meanings.

Is there a way to correct the FitBit database when it makes and error.

Similarly when I scan something and the bar code is not recognised is there a way to tell the system what that bar code relates to so that next time I scan one it knows?

Hi @DavidHowdon, it's nice to see you again in our Community Forums.

I am sorry to hear about the difficulty you're experiencing when scanning food. Thanks for the details shared, I am glad to assist you with that. I understand your concern and would like to confirm what food database are you using? Note that at this time, barcode scanning is only available for customers using the United States food database. If you use another food database, the barcode scanning option won't work. In this case you can manually log your food. Please find more information at How do I log food in the Fitbit app?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
