iOS 13.1.2 won't allow "always" allow location

I think I just figured out why my Charge 3 will not take all-day sync, and why, therefore, I don't get notifications.  I  (again, getting very annoyed.. )  reset my Charge as a new device.  And clicked that location was to be ALWAYS allowed for Fitbit. However, I noticed it won't hold that..when I go back to settings it has switched back to "ask" mode.  I tried several times. I think iOS needs another update!

Hello @vee

I may have found a solution for you. (fingers crossed) Let’s start by tapping your exercise tile in the Fitbit app. If you don’t have the exercise tile showing in the main page of the Fitbit app (where all your current challenges are) then tap Discover at the bottom left, then tap Health & Fitness Stats, then find exercise and tap it. Look to the bottom and tap “Add to today”.... that will pop you back to the main page. Now find the exercise tile and tap it. Look to the upper left and tap the stopwatch icon. Now tap “Enable Location Services” , then open settings and make your selection. (If it doesn’t let you select always then select when using the app) .....now go back to the Fitbit app and answer WiFi prompt. Now  go directly to your iOS setting and now you can change it to always. Gosh I hope all this makes sense.

😃 Please let me know if this provides the best answer to your question

Oh my gosh! Thanks so much! I never would have thought to try that!  I always start exercise from the Fitbit, not the app. And it only said "allow when using", but you're right, when I went back to iOS settings it allowed always!! 😀

@SunsetRunner, I realized after I posted that this probably didn't have to do with my sync issue. I am happy that now I do still have location services.. but aargh I have lost all day sync again!  When I do all the "steps to fix it"  I get it for an hour or two and then poof it's gone. I don't suppose you have any magic for this, do you? This morning I went through all the steps even clearing/deleting the Fitbit .. it was then I noticed the location problem. And I did get all-day sync after your wonderful location fix, but it seemed to die during my walk since it didn't map it for me.

Hello again @vee

No worries. If you want all day synced turned on do this:

open Fitbit app

Tap profile picture on upper left

scroll down and tap your Fitbit name (located just below “My Family”)

scroll down and enable all day sync

😉

Yeah, this fix is not so easy!  It won't hold on to all-day. Thank you anyway. I've been reading all the threads and tried everything. I've been wearing Fitbits since 2011 and still love it..but getting tired of not being able to get notifications or all-day sync, and wasting so much time trying.  I should have contacted support in September when this started, because I got my Charge 3 on release day of 10/7/18 so it's now over a year old.  But I had the issue before and it was finally resolved.

Hello again @vee

So now your experiencing syncing issues? Have you tried deleting the Fitbit App and then reinstalling it?

Yes, a couple of times... last time I tried that was yesterday. (Had also totally reset Fitbit, etc. )  Worked for an hour.
