iOS 2.26.1 Surge running map thumbnails wrong

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

For the past several months, including on the newest iOS 2.26.1 (572) after going for an outdoor run with my Fitbit Surge the small map thumbnail show in the Exercise tab of activities will show a map from a run I took in some cases months before in a completely different location, sometimes across the country. When you then click the thumbnail preview and the detailed view of the Exercise appears the larger map is then accurate. The issue is only with the thumbnail in the list view of activites. This inaccurate thumbnail issue occurs approximately 25% of the time when using my Surge, the rest of the time the thumbnail is accurate. The thumbnail never updates is remains inaccurate forever.

The desktop Fitbit site shows thumbnails accurately. I never brought this up before because obviously it is a fairly minor issue but its been several months and versions of the app without a fix.

Thanks!

Hi @SunsetRunner! Have you tried logging out from the app, restarting your phone and logging back in? Could you share some screenshots of the issue?

I look forward to your reply.

Logging out (not just quitting app) did the trick and forced thumbnails to rebuild. The issue was the same as brought up a year ago here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/iOS-App/GPS-Map-thumbnail-not-correct/m-p/947390/highlight/true#M240...

It seems there is a bug in the iOS app still but at least there is an fix when it starts happening. Thanks.

@SunsetRunner Sorry to hear that this is still reappearing but glad to know that logging out did the trick to correct it! And thank you for posting again since this may help other members in the same situation. Robot LOL

I'll be around!
