There are a dozen posts on this issue, but in different device forums, and different situations. I've had tihs happen a couple of times now. I had 4K+ steps, synced to iPhone, now I have 5 steps. This sync updated the device, iOS app and on-line web app, they are all now insync, but I lost steps.
I have restarted my Surge. Yes it is charged. No, this wasn't a tracked exercise, just raw daily steps.

Welcome to the Community @leonnyan! Thanks for the troubleshoot you've done. There are some reasons why you may lose some steps:
- Logging an activity that's overriding your steps
- Using two trackers at the same time
Do you remember doing anything different in your Dashboard? Are you using two trackers or logging activities?
Keep me posted.

No to both. I looked at my Fitbit, saw the step count, synced to iOS, steps erased. I do have two trackers, but at time of sync only one was in proximity - the other was 12 miles away.

@leonnyan thanks for the update! I also thought about syncing two trackers, just like @SilviaFitbit suggested. However I see you mentioned that your other tracker was 12 miles away. Nevertheless, please make sure that your All-Day Sync option isn't on, because that might be syncing both trackers in the background and that might be one of the reasons why your steps are missing.
The thing is that even is you don't use two trackers at the same time but, you do sync one of those trackers near your other tracker this will cause discrepancies. It happens to me, I would be wearing the Surge all day and then when I get home and sync it near my Flex, it would deduct steps from my dashboard. Make sure that when you sync one of your trackers, the other one isn't nearer than 15-20 ft and that your All-Day Sync option is off. Keep me posted!

Thanks Mariam - my second device (one I only use to track sleep) was on All-day sync; I've turned that off and will see how it sorts out.
