I have to log out and log back in to get accurate steps on the iOS app.
Weekly email update is inaccurate unless I go through this process. Very annoying

Hello @Maccamaman, thank you for joining to the Fitbit Community! Your weekly report as you said is generated based on the information synced with your tracker and your Fitbit app. In this case I'm not able to see on your Community profile you have an specific tracker paired. Are you using MobileTrack on the iOS Fitbit app?
If this is the case, MobileTrack will automatically update your information everytime you open the Fitbit app assuming you have Internet connection. So my recommendation in these scenarios is to review your app at least one time in the day before midnight to make sure all your stats are updated and the information can be updated too on your weekly report.
When you use a Fitbit tracker the way it works is different, since your tracker is recording your information and you can choose to maintain a constant connection in order for your information keep updated all the time without the need to review the app.
