Hey there @Spartan_Jeff! Welcome to the Fitbit Community!
That's correct in the iOS app you will only see the messages that your friends have sent to you.
Catch you later!

Hey Magin, if you can only see messages friends send, then how is replying to the messages possible? Or is it not possible? ...which in that case is sad.
I look forward to your reply.
Thanks!
Karen

Hi everybody @kaperric @Spartan_Jeff, hope you're doing great today ! As mentioned before, only messages sent by your friends are showed up on your Fitbit app.

It's terrible that you can't see sent messages.
I would recommend a future update include the ability to see sent/received and even the taunts, cheers, all in one chat area - so that you can keep track... i know it's not a chat app - but this should benefit fitbit in keeping users engaged on the app vs. using chat apps like whatsapp

I'm writing in 2018 and see that having a message thread is still not available. What is the point of messaging within the app. I officially give up on any usefulness of the Fitbit other than to track my steps. Having friends' steps just available as a weekly thing also lame. Now that Jawbone has gone under, why don't you see if you can hire some of its developers as they had a robust app with great interface.

2019 and this is still an issue. Very annoying and feel like this could be a simple upgrade with the app?!
