iOS version not supported - what to do now?!?

My FitBit app lives on an old iPad mini, with iOS version 12.5.8 as the most up to date version available.  Google wants me to switch to a google account, however the google app is not supported on this iPad, so I'm at a loss as to how to proceed from here.  Is there any alternative available or am I just basically out of luck?
